I somewhat disagree with you. You are putting way too much faith in a rigged system. I dont believe anyone’s vote even counts anymore. I watched an election get stolen last year in AL on some of the same BS they tried to do with Kavanaugh. They were successful there. It’s all rigged at this point with voter fraud, found votes and so on. I for one dont think it matters.

What does matter is swaying public opinion. Look at the LGBTQ community. Do you think they are voting their change? Do you think their way of life is all of a sudden more acceptable? No, the difference is their small numbers are speaking much louder and swaying public opinion. If we don’t start standing up for our own rights ourselves wtf should any elected reps. In fact, that brings me to my next point that I am reminded of. I had a phone conversation with one of my Congress critters recently who is solid red, always has been and nearly voted on some Antigun crap because he hasn’t heard from any of his constituents which in his mind led him to believe that the public favored the bill otherwise they would be speaking out about it. Public opinion matters more than anything and in order to change that you have to get out and get to work.

My point behind it is that if we can’t muster up a better turn out than this for our rights then we sure as hell don’t need to be doing rally’s because whether i believe voting counts or not is irrelevant. What does count is appearances and giving the illusion that you have strong numbers whether you do or not. If your numbers look weak then so does the message and that doesn’t bode well for our group. So maybe it’s not a good idea to do these. In all honesty, it went about like I figured it would. I did all I could to get the message out to as many as I could. Again, to me it’s about optics, if you look weak you most likely are and I think public opinion far outweighs what any political idiot thinks or does.

There is some truth to that but if enough people speak out about it, I think our voice still scares the people that think they run this place. And that’s kind of my point. I think up until now they have been afraid of the people and the arms they have but they have been slow rolling their wishes and testing the waters and arent really getting any pushback. I believe what little of the 2A we have left is basically all that deters them from going apeshit crazy and making us all more slaves than we already are because despite what people think, most of us are slaves to the system, we just ain’t full on slaves, yet. It’s not just writing people, or getting more involved or writing checks or doing rally’s etc. it’s all of the above and the more active you are the better the optics.
