I was on my way home from a Blue Ridge ride on my Road King.

Just outside of Gettysburg my bike had a problem. It was a Sunday. I had to be in work Tuesday. I rented a UHaul and got home.

Next day I was rolling the bike down the ramp with me on the side of the bike.

I got the bike half way down the ramp and was at a point I thought I was losing it, it was going to get away from me.

It was either coming off the ramp toward me or I was going to have to push it away to keep from crushing me.

I don't know what I did but I bore down and got the bike down the ramp.

Granted a trail bike and a Road King are two different breeds if beast but she handled that well, impressive.

Army Jerry would fuck her.

It looks impressive if it's done right. I was on Sicily Drop Zone at Ft. Bragg in 1987 when a C130 crashed doing this. If I recall correctly, there were five fatalities.

In the General topics section at the CMP Forum there is a long running post about everything airplane.

Some of the posters are retired air crew.

One is a C130 pilot.

Just this week this maneuver came up Low Altude Parachute Delivery or some such acronym.

The Army request to the Air Force was to have the plane 5 feet off the deck.

Any higher they could expect damage to whatever was being delivered.

I think they just hung their balls out the bottom of the AC and when they started to touch grass they knew they were at 5 feet of altitude.

I was a 2LT at Pope and the commander for the honor guard when the plane crashed. I remember burying most of them. The hardest gig I ever did was standing next to the Wing Commander as he presented the flag to a young widow and her two small children.

That gal unloading her bike is cool. Makes me think thats what my middle one will be like.
tougher than hell, stubborn, athletic, and a tomboy that makes most boys her age look like pussies.
Both girls are really pretty too, which is why daddy keeps buying guns......... ?
And more ammo.

Was there for JRT. IIRC the pilot hit the deck hard and the bird just kinda of...exploded.

Yes, it bounced and broke in half. The front half ran over some JSOC guys at the far end of the reviewing stand.

It was bad, but could have been so much worst if the plane went to the right and into the crowd. I was in the stands watching. We were way too close.

Don't remember where I was, but we heard the chatter on the net. Knew it wasn't good.
