Oooofff! Disaster averted!

This is why they make masking tape.

I loaded 47g of H4350 in a 260 with a 142gSMK years ago and will never make that mistake again.

Luckily mine was sticking 4831 instead of 4350 so it would have been super slow but I actually caught myself say, 30 or so cases in. Luckily so far if used slower powders in place of faster and I’ve loaded a grain lower instead of higher so both were situations that would have left me unharmed. But you realize real quick how you should take precautions and try to idiot proof yourself... because I’m the biggest idiot in my life.

I do hate when they make jugs look identical with in the actual number being different. That’s probably what I like best about 8208xbr, it’s got a unmistakeable bling to the label.
I don’t like that the h4350and h4831look sort of close.
I hate how reloaders look indential.
I hadn’t realized that all reloaders look identical. I’m glad that you pointed that out. So, does that mean that we both look like your avatar? ‘Cause if so, my mirror has been lying to me.

I may know a guy that shoots at our range that was loading more than that on his .260. He had moved to .260 from 6.5-284. And figured the loads and speeds should be similar. Dropped the rifle off at the GS because the damn thing would freeze up the bolt all the time. Obviously a gunsmithing problem...

That's why I try to have the least amount of powders possible. Sometimes I dont pay attention to things and I dont want to do that. All my rifle stuff gets IMR4064 and all my pistol is vectan BA9

holy shit lucky guy there!

I know a guy here blew up a 260AI...grabbed 15 instead of 17...lucky he is left handed and shoots right hand guns...sheered the lugs off the bolt and the action blew apart down wards...his fingers are still there but they don’t work the same.

I have an L shaped bench. Progressive on the left and single stage on the right.

Even if the progressive is set up to load and I'm not using it, the powder gets put away.
Same with the single stage.
One powder at a time, or none on the bench at all.

A guy I shot with a lot had a guy he knows go with him. I pulled up as they were messing with the rifle. They had to beat the bolt open and couldn't get the brass out of the bolt. I guess he popped a primer on the first round before I got there and shot it again. He loaded 46 grains of 4350 over a 105 hybrid in a 243. Tried telling me that's what he always ran so I explained the my 6 creedmoor was 42 grains and was on the upper end.

Recipe book, grab the powder, check the load data and recipe book again, look at the jug again.

Set up the powder measure, and scales, brass racks, check the recipe book, and the jug...again. Write down the target weight on dry erase board on the wall in front of me.
