Good morning guys, I sent my newly acquired LTR to DMR in Las Vegas to have a 18 inch Proof Carbon Barrel installed. From what I read the PRC would not benefit from being a short barrel but with RL26 (which I have plenty of) I am able to push the 143 ELDx to close to PRC velocity from my GAP 22 inch Proof barreled rifle.

It appears that to go PRC I would need to spend a lot more money on the build but this is just a "truck gun" for overall use. I don't really care about barrel life so to speak but a Wyatts extended box and opening the bolt may be possible but maybe not and adds to the price? Anyone done this? I can call DMR about the PRC machining questions but thought maybe someone already went through this decision?

It's a hard decision since you always want to do the right thing and not regret it later. I think you are right in that the Creedmoor will serve the purpose. I'm not sure the bolt would not need replaced which adds a lot of expense.

I'd stick with creedmoor in that rifle, prc really need to be 22"+, other wise all that slow powder in that big case is burned outside barrel and wasted. You're getting 143gr bullets to 3025 in a 22" 6.5creed, neat.

I can only get the 143 to 2912 with RL26 in the 22 inch barrel. I can push it a little harder but not much. Sorry if I implied I'm getting 3000fps with it.

It's a freaking laser beam!!lol 215 primer was the key to that load. There are a few guys running them that hot. I only have 2 loads on the brass and this is the 3rd so I have no information on brass life but I had the 140 running 2890 fps from my Bergara.

Crap...I should add that I run a SDN6 suppressor. I have not run it without.
