MDT just released a Polymer 8 round .224 Valkyrie mag

Thanks for the ideas, I did quickly hit the feed lips to smooth them out.

One thing I forgot. The second round almost always is loose and can be removed and the rest of the rounds are froze.

So now that I'm thinking about it... it might be the pressure on the 3rd round causing it to catch. I'll grab my gun and play with is some.

Starting to sound like the follower is binding or trying to turn sideways or something.....when I did mine I did all kinds of things to work and it works really well actually. I fiddled with everything, squeezed the mag, bent the feed lips, sanded ect., it has pliers marks all over lol, but fully functional from first to last round.
Keep fiddling with it until you either get tired of it or it works.

It's a 10rd mag, I'm fairly convinced it's a follower issue. I recreated it and felt with a my knife and the rounds were loose as far as I could feel. If I were to load 9 itd work flawlessly.

Ive read about some people using dry lube but I dont know if there is a kind that works better than others in regards to magazines.

Quick follow up in case anyone comes here looking for answers. I used some graphite lube on the follower and the front (lobe?) of the box and it's working nearly 100%. I used the spray on lock lube that dries and leaves a film.

$45 metal mag and a $45 PR mag kit makes this the cheapest full capacity metal mag around!

It's still the same 224V 8rd mag that's been out for a while now. 223 polymer cnc modified for 224V. They are just carrying it on their website now.
If they sell enough of these they will produce a purpose built 224V mag I'm told.

They are no different than the C&H mags except I'm sure they carry some kind of warranty and cost more. I'm sure its someone's cup of tea but 8 rounds doesnt inspire great things for me.

$75 dollars is pretty steep for a poly mag. But if it aids it telling them to make a dedicated mag. Maybe even a steel mag, then I might just do it. I'm sure my $90 mag is more finicky but I'd personally rather a metal mag.

I hate to “remove” material.....once you remove that, its gone, I’d rather shape it how I want. I know it won’t remove much but still..... lol I’m different I guess

Someone needs to remind MDT (@MDT_OFFICIAL ) that many of us buy 6mm BR mags and mod them for the Valkyrie, so don't think just the purpose mod'ed Valkyrie mags that they sell are the only numbers of folks buying mags for 224V's....
