Oops, sorry about that. 6.5 Creedmoor.

That felt like when I forget to dial elevation... I updated the thread title, thanks.

Have been a bit curious if many of you run Varget with the 130's in the Creedmoor?
There is a very nice and mild node with it in the 6.5x47 between 2850-2900 and given the two are so close figured I would see mentioned more.

Has anyone shot these at distance I was gonna give them a go found a thread saying after 600 they didn’t do well...I’ll look for the thread

I use Varget behind 130gr AR Hybrids in my match gun. Get about 2900fps and very accurate.

John

I shoot 130 ELDMs or 130 Hybrids with 42.5gr of AR2209 (H4350)
2850fps out of 26 inch barrel.

my load for the 130s out of my gun was 42.5 grs of h44350 at 20 thousandths off the lands at 2890 fps out of a 24" barrel with 9" suppressor and I took them out to 1000 yds with sub moa groups if that helps you any

I'm another that uses 42.5 gr of H4350 and 130 gr Berger AR Hybrid, Lapua brass. Must be a magic number. Mine is a .260 Rem.

Just picked up a couple hundred 130eld to try out +1 on the 42.5 4350 2.85coal 1/2 moa at 7 and 800 in 23 mph winds. I’m going to try some reloader16 and see how that does since the 4350 is getting hard to find again.

I'm running 42.4gr H4350 in Hornady Brass with a Berger 130gr AR Hybrid at 2875fps (24" barrel)

Surprisingly the same load in Lapua brass gives me the exact same velocity.

130 eldm does not live up to its specs past 600 yds. Download it's custom curve and you will see before wasting money on them.
Below 600 They are easy to tune lasers.
140eldm is awesome.
I call BS on that!

Wasn’t trying to bs anyone I seen something like that a couple times and just stuck with the 140.

Seen this thread and got curious again

I wasn’t implying you were posting poo
Just that I’ve shot and have friends shoot those bullets and had good results to 1200+.
I do have to adjust the BC to get them to true up but I did that to every ELDm I’ve shot including the 7mm 180’s

I’m thinking of going back to the 130’s from the 147’s I currently shoot.

i am running 43.0 gr 2209 [h4350] in both 130 gr bergers tactical hybrids and 130 eld match, bergers are seated 17 th off and eld match are 11th off, velocity in both is around 2930 fps out of a 26 " krieger 1 in 8 twist chambered in 6.5 creedmoor, both are excellent 500 mt fly comp here in the tropics of mackay queensland aust, ran a 10 shot ladder test on both and found a fairly large node from 42.8, 43.0, and 43.2 and settled on the middle, the 130 eldm es 4 sd 1.8, bergers were es 10 sd 4, so i'm a happy little camper.

130 eldm were very accurate for my jp barreled gas gun.
40 gr varget at 2850 from a 22inch tube in 95F temperature with Hornady brass.
The bullets bc is not as good as the hybrid and eldm bc is also optimistic.
After getting excited about my load at 600 yds I couldn't make contact at 800 and 1000.
Put in some Hornady black and and started ringing steel again.
Labradar for velocity. Maybe a bc correction would not have left the sour taste in my mouth

Update
I just started shooting the 130’s in my 260.
44 grains of H4350 gets me 2980 with them.
made hits out to 1100 on Sunday.
For me the AB CDM was not jiving and called for more elevation than needed.
I’ll work backwards and find a usable BC.
I’m gonna try them at 1525 on Thursday.
Quite honestly my 260 was hammering with them.

kinda tinkered with the BC
Out to 1100 a G7 of .275 seems close to my dope from Sunday.
Way better BC than the AB G7 or CDM

Stlhd, I’d be interested to find out what you get for real world BC. Just worked up a load for my Seekins SP10. 43 RL16 jumping .120. 2800 FPS 22” barrel.

I’ll have a better idea on Thursday, going to my happy place then an I have lots of steel from 400 to way further than a 130 has any right going but so far I’m happy with them.

On a few ELD’S something just below the mach 2 BC seems to work and the 130’s appears to follow that trend.

H4350 somewhere in the 42.5-43 range around 2875ish

Found out the Hornady box for 130 ELDM said G7 of .279, but applied ballistics says .247. that explains my long range frustration.
Yea, intact if you get them fast enough I’m finding they’ll beat the Hornandy BC slightly all the way out to 1500 yards.

Out of curiosity I checked my AB mobile app and the 123 ELD is listed with a .259g7. Something is off.

Not quite a necro bump, but any updates on 130 eldm and H4350 loads?

I have to rush and load 6.5cm ammo for a winter prs match, lol, and I'm thinking 42.5 of H4350 in x1 Hornady brass, with CCI BR2, at 2.81" OAL, because I have no time for load dev. I don't need a bughole load, just sub moa and fast enough to push these 130s.

This 1-8 6.5cm barrel shoots Hornady Factory 140 eldm White Box Ammo @ 2725 into .5 or better, so I'm using that velocity and BTO measurements to gauge and swag a 130 eldm reload with H4350 and same brass in my chamber.

Sucks to rush, but I know I'm gonna lose a whole lot of brass in the snow, so I want to use my old x1 Hornady brass with these 130 eldms and save my good stuff for warmer days ahead... lololol

Yep thats load i used to use 42.5gr. Can’t remember speed….maybe 2880ish. My 41.8gr load for 140ELDM is 2850fps out of 26” barrel.

My gas gun load is 43.7 h4350 at 2.85”, hdy brass, #200 primer. 2880fps from a 24” noveske barrel. Consistent 1/2-3/4moa. Last I remember I’m .050” off the lands at that length.

What brass were you using?
How long? Bolt-rifle Mag length?

Thanks!
Sorry mate Lapua brass but have shot same load in Hornady brass. BR4s. CBTO 2.195” 20/1000 off, but also shoot great at 2.80”. Rifle is built on Ultimatum action. Cheers

I can confirm 42.5 gr H4350 in x1 Hornady brass with Fed 210Ms was safe and fast in my 28" 5R 1-8 6.5 cm w/ the 130 eldms at 2.8" oal.
2929 fps avg and SD 9.8 for x8, saving the rest for Jan match, grouping was open @ .75 moa, but most of that was me in the cold in a hurry.
Thanks again Hide, Happy New Year!

Anybody got just a mild load to break a barrel in with 130eldm and varget? Just looking to make up some rounds to run through the gun to get it to a point where my velocity is stable. Was thinking 37 grains?

With Varget and 130's I ran 38gr. 37 will be fine, and a decent speed break in load. Not sure I would waste varget just to break in a barrel though.
