Does anyone have any experience with Hawkins heavy tactical rings, I’m looking into them for a comp rifle. I know I can get other rings cheaper but I’m trying the buy once cry once mentality.

I don't have experience with those specifically, but I am running one of their one piece mounts that I like. You're paying for a quality product, with a some extra features, from a smaller company that doesn't have the economies of scale of the big boys. I've met Andy and he's a great guy - took over an hour out of his day to show me around his shop and chat. Other rings will serve you well, but you can buy a great set of rings and support someone who supports the community through prize table donations, etc.
Most of the guys I know shoot with them and absolutely love them. No slip no worries.

I'm running Ultralight Tactical rings on my hunting rifle, and am impressed so far. Until now, everything i own sits in ARC M10s, but wanted to shave some weight for the backcountry. Scope in the rings is a Bushnell LRHS.
At 0dark30 one morning on the mountain i tripped on a rock and dropped my rifle scope-down onto a boulder from a height of about 4ft. Three days later i put 2 coldbore shots into the lungs of a mule deer at 936yds without checking zero.

I have been using the Hawkins Heavy Tactical for the last 2 years and I love them. I had used Badger and Seekins for a long time - they were good but on occasion I did have some ring marks after removing, and had one scope slip.
The Hawkins rings have a fit and finish above, and I have NEVER had a scope slip (and I torque at minimum specs - usually around 15-18 in pds). In addition if you are going to be using for a comp rifle the forward pic rail can be used to hold a data card or as a nice flat platform to put your hand over while shooting off barricades.
Lastly, Andy Hawkins is not only a stand up guy but also about the nicest person you could ever meet!

I've been seriously considering dumping a Spuhr to pick one of these up just for something different - and I like the bubble level positioning and included top picatinny rail.
I went Spuhr to Hawkins and have zero regrets. I would pay the same price as a Spuhr for these rings but the fact that you can buy almost 2 sets of them for the price of one mount is just icing on the cake.
I'm looking at the Hawkins single piece mount, as I still prefer that layout to split ring, so it's a smaller price difference - but it's still something different. Part of it is I want to try a taller scope mount, as my current Spuhr is a 1.1" SP-4011, and the Hawkins is ~1.2"
