Join contestIn a gasser?I‘m on 17-18 reloads for Peterson SRP and I’ve yet to lose a single case to loose pockets or spilt necks.
I missed it too. My Lapua brass is used in high precision bolt guns.Ah, no, missed that in the original post. Bolt with moderate load, 140 Hybrids, 41.5 gr H4350.
I won’t run Lapua brass through an AR10. It just beats the hell out of it. Bolt guns get Lapua only but gas guns get a healthy diet of bulk package starline or hornady. I get .5-.7 MOA from it and that’s perfectly fine with me for a gas gun. Bonus is you don’t have to worry about those few pieces that seem to disappear upon ejection!
ThanksI think many will say Lapua, but I just bought 150 small primer pocket Starlines. The reviews are outstanding and their initial quality is top shelf. Not to mention I got 150 cases for cheaper than 100 Lapua cases - win win
Are you annealing too?I‘m on 17-18 reloads for Peterson SRP and I’ve yet to lose a single case to loose pockets or spilt necks.
Is there a preference between small vs large rifle primers? In my bolt guns its all Lapua. But for the gassers, I love Starline. With good case prep (ie. flash hole deburring) single digit SD's are not uncommon. Plus it hurts way less if they get beat up or lost.
