You place an order, recieve notice that the item has shipped, get a tracking # and then the item sits for 3 days before it actually ships?? Especially if you pay extra for expedited shipping!

WTF?? Wait until it ships to send tracking info. All they do is piss off the customer that is not so patiently waiting on it.

I ordered a part for a 4 wheeler on Amazon on Dec 3.. shipped from China so I knew it'd take time since I didn't pay for expedited shipping. Not updated location since Dec 19th and supposed to arrive Wednesday. We'll see.

I buy lots of my nerdy shit from China with their standard free shipping. Believe it or not I kinda like the fact it takes 3-4 weeks to get here because I have forgotten what it was by the time it gets here so it's like a surprise. :D

Yes Dear, I realize that but why send "It has shipped" until it has actually shipped? Instead of waiting 3 more days to ship it.
Just a pet peeve I have.

It's called automation.....love it or hate it. You'd be the guy bitchin' that you ordered/paid three days ago and it still says "Processing".

There a Seinfeld monologue where he talks about moving in to new apartment and calling for a new cable service.

    Seinfeld: I’m at 1423 Birdsong Apartment 4B, and I’d like package B.
operator: Ok, It will be on this Thursday.
Seinfeld: So, you’re sending someone out?
operator: No, we can turn it on from here.
Seinfeld: Can you see the switch from where you’re sitting?

My online store automatically sends a tracking number assigned to a purchase before I even purchase much less print a shipping label. When you select shipping at checkout it assigns the number and sends a notification. I wish there was a way to turn it off but there isn't. I don't like that shit either but it is a built in thing that the store owner can't do much about in most cases. I had to search all over to find out how to turn off the "oops, you forgot to checkout" emails. I figure people want to checkout, they want to checkout. People say they get sales from those emails, but I don't like em.
