In the post its stated it a pre 86 gun, Im assuming as manufactured full auto.

    Not just DIS.

Maybe im over reading some of your comments.

That said......it being an HK all the full auto value is in the trigger pack, isn't it?

Remove that fire control group and you reconfigure your PDW into a rifle or what have you?

    Is that correct?

I understand the clone MP44s that were made recently use a H&K trigger pack. Could such gun be made FA using this gear?

    Constructive possession?

As I understand, if you render it into a semi auto only, it then has to be registered as a SBR. The SBR status is covered/included under the “machine gun” tax stamp.

most of the time the sear is the cost BUT the fact that it was a pre 86 gun means that it may be a registered receiver versus a sear gun which makes it more valuable. A registered receiver has all of the attributes of the real deal MP5. Why is that important? If anything happens to the sear, you can buy a new one from H&K directly. If the sear is the registered part, the advantage is it can be moved to a variety of hosts since the whole trigger pack which contains the sear has to be moved gun to gun

Yes that's stated in the post.

Its pre 86, fully transferable. Not a dealer example.

They are claiming approx. $16K if FFL transfer only but upwards of $40K if transferable under NFA.

Id say those numbers are pretty good and that widow better have help.

Still not clear if it is a sear gun or registered receiver. Pre-86 could still be either. Actual selling price these days would be in the mid to upper $30K range. If a sear gun it is possible the sear could be "divorced", making the sear portable to other hosts and then registering the host as an SBR. Great find for the widow.

I’ve casually watched the ads over the past two or three years. Looks like a lot of them are on for some extended lengths of time. No real surprise, those asking prices are pretty lofty. But......some of them do sell in those price ranges. At those rates, it might pay to become an FFL/SOT. Unless, of course, one isn’t interested in the ATF living in your spare bedroom.........
