Shot Show 2020 Thread!!!

Leica's new stuff looks cool. Really interested in the 3200.com. Its ability to work with AB, the new Kester HUD or an Apple Watch seems to cover all the bases well. Would like to see it work with the Garmin watch as well.
2020 Leica Brochure
Yeah, my Sig 3000 may end up getting replaced by the new Geovid.

Something about the Ultimatum 22 action looks off...it’s almost like the interrupted Picatinny action rail over the ejection port looks like a giant forehead to me ?

I agree.

The barreled action price is pretty good. However, I'm not really sold on either brand (Ultimatum and IBI). Both brands have their issues, Ultimatum with some weird design quirks and IBI with questionable quality.

what gets me is tikka footprint, but aics mags in short action chassis. or their DBM for only 3.715 mags so not CIP. unless you do with a wyatts or bdl which idk if that's even an option

at $1k for barreled action this is a short action magnum dream, but the mags fuck it and i'm sure the barrel length/twist/contour options will be lacking like their Deadline B/As

Any idea what’s up with the countdown on Sako’s page?

There is also one for Tikka.

I hope it is when we can order off of the https://choose.tikka.fi/usa site. I want a https://choose.tikka.fi/usa/code/TFTT63FL115MTB

Well whatever it is, we're not going to find out about it at SHOT based on the release date.

Would be great if someone interested could cover anything new in PCP air rifles ?

As much as I like the new PCPs.... I would like an old one.

For fun, I started drawing up a Girandoni.
Tyrollean Bartholomaus Girandoni around 1779, this revolutionary rifle is four feet long and weighs a manly 10 pounds. It's semi-automatic rate of fire and, for the period, its immense firepower reserve made it a fearsome thing to contemplate in battle.

This is really where devices like the Charlie Tarac and other "periscope" optics come into play, without needing 3"+ rings and an ocular that is facing the shooters forehead. There is only so much forward declination you can get out of a rail, but you can get ridiculous elevation out of these "prisms", instantly.
I hear NF has a new one...

So far from what I've seen from the reports it's another *yawn* shot show, not surprising really. Most of the interesting stuff I've seen so far was released before the show even started.

The Leica 3200 is interesting, I think we all knew it was coming with Leica begging people to buy the 3000 for the last year. You have to wonder how many precision guys are will just run the Sig 3000 for 1/4th of the price when it does basically the same thing, but taking a glass quality hit. You can buy a Sig 3000, Kestrel 5700, and still have $2000+ left for a scope or rifle for what the Leica will run.

Most interesting things I've seen so far, were mostly released prior to the show.

KRG 10/22 Bravo, the 10/22 is really lacking in the chassis options area.

MP5 K, why pay $2000 for a reproduction.

Berga 22, till I saw the $1000 price tag, you can buy a 457 and put it in a chassis for that.

XDm revamp, pretty sad shot show when an XDm is a bright point

Sig BDX-2 seems like some nice zoom ranges, some improvements, the big one being cutting the max spacing between ranging dots in half. I still think for hunters under 600-700 yards this is a game changer, but I also still think Sig's QC sucks so it's a crapshoot, my Tango6 didn't even make it on a rifle and I've had every Romeo1 I've owned go down. I will give them credit for innovation that the "industry leaders" like Zeiss/Leica/Swarovski have been happy to sit on their butts with $3000+ products for years without offering. So I'm happy that if nothing else Sig is forcing their hand.

What makes you think the glass quality will take a hit? I assume it will be the same glass as previous Geovids

I meant that the glass of the Sig 3000 is clearly not at the level the Leica is, in other words if you are not trying to see deer at twilight but you have better ranging and the same integration in the Sig 3000 how many guys are just going to run the Sig 3000 and save probably $2500

Gotcha, misread your post. The Leica glass is indeed a big step up from the Sig.

Was wondering if Swaro was going to bring a Bluetooth Bino RF to market....?

Maybe in March at IWA (Germany)?
