Med Palma

More than enough. I have most of my rifles in med palma now. I like the lighter weight and no issues with longer strings of fire.
I ran a medium Palma in a 6creed last season and didn’t have an issue with it. I switched to a M24 this season just to try something different and I got a pretty good deal.

Barrel contours are very subjective. I shot a season with a HH Marksman contour, which is between a medium and heavy palma. I've come to prefer heavier contour barrels myself, my rifles are all wearing MTU and Heavy Varmint profiles now.
The only way to find out is to shoot it and determine what your own preferences are. It doesn't matter what contour I shoot, or anyone else on here shoots. You need to find what works for you. That is an experiment in trial and error, but at least you get to have fun and send rounds down range while doing it

Preferences change over time and equipment is a constant evolution. It's not cheap, that's for sure.
Someone telling you online what their preference is in 10 words or less is not going to be much help for you to determine what your preference is. Everyone is different, and barrel contours are very subjective. What is better yet is to shoot a bunch of different rifles with different barrel contours, preferably from different positions and props if possible, to see how the rifle handles and balances.
Some of it is going to depend on the specs of your rifle and how it's going to balance with different barrel profiles. My rifle would be very rear heavy with a medium palma barrel in the JAE chassis I run. Alternatively, my wifes rifle with a KRG bravo would balance really nicely with a ~24" medium palma. A heavy palma (which it has), at 24" made for a pretty front heavy rifle, I had to change out the LOP spacers to weighted metal ones to get it more balanced.
Some people like rearward balance, some more neutral (over the mag well), and others a bit front heavy. Some people may want a lighter rifle to maneuver around and through props better, others want a heavier rifle to tame recoil more. There's compromises to be made no matter which direction you go, and it's up to the individual to determine where they want to compromise to get the features and performance they want.
It's easy for someone on here to say that their preference is a M24 barrel contour, and if you have enough people chanting "M24, M24, M24" that you come to believe that you made a mistake and need an M24 contour. Unfortunately it's not that simple.
The general trend right now is to go heavier. There are some people who prefer lighter profile for PRS/NRL type shooting, but they are definitely in the minority. I would say the majority seem to hover between 24-26" heavy palma to MTU. Some go even heavier, with a straight contour barrel + weight kits strapped to their rifles so they have a 26 lb rig. Your medium palma is definitely considered on the lighter side for this sport, and outside the general preference range of most. That doesn't mean it isn't going to work to your preference though. You need to figure that out on your own.
Mechanically you are not going to have issues. Accuracy and match use you will be fine. You will not have issues with long strings of fire and accuracy with a Med Palma. Don't stress it or over think it. My 6 Creed is a 28" Med Palma and does great.
OP, your original statement indicated that you would be using the gun primarily for hunting. An M24 is going to disappoint you in that it is a lot of weight to carry around for hunting VS a medium Palma that is money as a cross over for both hunting and shooting distance. Do I prefer my M24 for distance....absolutely but your intent is primarily hunting. My M24 rarely gets thrown in the truck to go chase Wiley around the desert. JM2C
i go MTU on everything because you should be weight training at all times you are handling your gun.
If you're hunting with the rifle, Medium palma will be fine to shoot the occasional match. Of course that depends how much you're walking when you hunt. If you walk to a stand and sit there all day, heavier might be alright. For reference, I run heavy palma on my rifle and it weighs a total of 16 pounds. I've hiked hills for a couple hours with it and that's enough.
This year, I'm screwing a carbon barrel on for hunting, and getting an MTU done up for matches. The whole "crossover rifle" idea doesn't work so well if you're serious about both hunting and competition.

Med palma for 22 and 6mm, marksman or heavy palma for 6.5 or 30cal. Kind of a happy medium for me, for recoil, portability, and asthetics.
you can drive nails with a crescent wrench.......but I wouldn’t recommend it???
Went with the med Palma Which is good because they said end of the week and had it spun on this morning so I actually didn’t have time to change my mind lol.
not sure what chassis/ stock you are using but some have weight kits available. i have a 6 creed that has a sendaro profile that can easily swap into a light weight hs precision stock for hunting. for match use the mpa weight kit in the mpa chassis. you made a fine choice.
I personally dont like anything heavier than Medium Palma/Varmint contour. Ive had an M24 before, its great if you need the weight but i didnt notice any difference in accuracy over high-round-count courses, so weight is its only advantage, and I decided that if i need weight, my answer would be to make the stock heavier rather than the barrel.
