Night Vision Mars rail pros and cons

They are fine if you don’t plan on running a long scope (ie SB 5-25) and clip on NOD like the Knights PVS units...Additionally, those rails require 8x40 tpi base-receiver fasteners so you may have to drill/tap the receiver if yours is not 8x40 already (you may already know that but throwing it out there in case you didn’t).
Modern Chassis and other alternative mounting systems accommodating NODs like stand alone EFRs have confined demand to mostly clone builders; applies to McCann MIRS & Remington (Badger/PRI) MARS rails.

I’m most likely going to send my gun off to have a lri efr installed this summer. Just want something to get me by until then.
Pro: You won't have to modify anything much beyond taping the receiver for 8x40, not a bad idea though.
Con: You'll need a much higher height of comb, so you'll need a stock that has that adjustment. Additionally the weight of the day optic and UNS when mounted on heavy recoiling rifles (like .300wm) can cause rails to work lose.
Honestly unless you're trying to clone something I wouldn't bother with it, a modern chassis has so many more advantages. If you're stuck on a traditional stock, then the EFR is probably the way to go.

I really prefer the feel of a traditional stock vs a chassis. Rifle is 300 blackout so Recoil is not an issue. I’m running a manners with an adjustable comb so hight is not an issue.
I like the weight saving among other things when it comes to the efr. Rifle is heavy enough with a clip on and radius attached. Don’t need to add any more than I have to.
Did you ever consider an MDT Long Top Rail. They are not nearly as expensive as other top rail options. I have one on a Remington 700 in 308 that I had a KAC PVS-26 on. It does have a little flex but I did not experience any issues as a result.
I did but all Mtd manufacturers is a 20 moa rail and I wanted a 0 moa for this application.
