Thinking of selling my SR25 and not real certain on current value. Maybe 250 rounds through it but looks almost new. If this not proper to ask value in open forum I apologize and ask the mods to delete.

Any help would be appreciated.

You guys think threading barrel 5/8-24 so that it has a shoulder is a bad idea. Nothing for the Thunder Beast brake to shoulder on.

edit. Rethreading probably puts me under 16 inches so that looks no go.

Never rethread a SR25 if you want to sell it for what it’s worth, they all take 3/4x24 and should stay that way. Also, you don’t need a shoulder anyway, just a shim pack to time the brake.

4100.00 would get it sold in a fair amount of time. I've been in the market for about two months now. I've been spying one that's been at 4195.00 since I started looking, though it is BNIB. Just waiting for the price to drop.

Sorry bubba. That one's possibly mine.

not sure what you mean about the shim pack. Even the 3/4-24 peel washer goes up the barrel almost to gas block. Are you talking about creating a false shoulder somehow? The surefire brake I had installed before was perfect like it was meant to be and I never thought about it at the time about not using shims. But it bottomed out on the face of the muzzle.

thanks so far for everyone’s help.

I put Surefire shims in the inner diameter of the threaded portion of the brake itself. They tucked in there and didn’t obstruct the bore/muzzle. This was to get a LT MAMS timed correctly. I also have the surefire Socom that fit and timed perfectly without any shims but the MAMS required shims.

I’m not sure this would work with the Thunder beast brake as there isn’t a shoulder inside the brake to set up against. The Thunder Beast just bottoms out on the threads and doesn’t seat on anything. Maybe I’m still misunderstanding though.

the surefire was dead nuts perfect. So much I have to figure it was 100% designed the SR25

The surefire break is made specifically for KAC rifles hence the perfect fit and time. Don’t think you’re misunderstanding, the TB brake may not allow for these shims. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics when using them on my MAMS otherwise I’d post them.

Why not just run the SureFire? I run a FA762k on mine, works fine.

I might. I have an SPS and RC1 but was excited to try my new 338 ultra on there and go max suppression and try and lay hate from afar on some pigs next month.

That's an almost unbelievable price-not many people must see it else that would be long gone.

No, it's actually not, and it's the same reason why I won't buy it yet. I just saw one go for 3800.00. I snoozed on that one so I didn't get it, but it was available for 4 days. If you knew what I recently paid for a 556 PredatOBR (box and paperwork), you'd think I was completely full of shit, so I get it.

My hope is that when I say, "you just gotta know how to look," that I don't come across as too douchebaggy. That being said, if I gave up my secret sauce on how to find them, it wouldn't be so secretive.

Very intriguing.

I wouldnt sell the upper for 3800...

Not interested in a key mod, big difference between an ACC and ECC.

Actually, there's not, and your personal preference has zero to do with the pricing that KAC distributes its rifles.

Furthermore, the key mod/mlok has nothing to do with whether the rifle is an ACC or an ECC as they used to offer each rifle with each system.

Anyhow, a simple "thank you" would have been sufficient.

ACC and APC are similar rifles, ECC is not.

They dont even have the same gas system. Totally different handguards. Barrels are different profile, and the ECC is ball mill dimpled and other is not.

I'm interested in these 3800 ECCs but I dont think they exist. There was an ECC upper that sold for 3600 not long ago and also a complete ECC rifle with MAMS that sold in 10 minutes for 5500.

A used ACC keymod, sure... but not seeing it for the ECC.

URX 3.1 FTW.

Haven’t seen an ECC or EMC sell for less than 5k either.

$5k is doing great on an EMC/ECC, they are becoming rarer and rarer. Ball mill dimples make this, in my mind, some of the last of the old school cool KAC. I've got 7 of their rifles, and my ECC is seldom shot but often admired for it's little pure KAC intricacies.

Thanks and you're a dick for showing me this :p

Yes sir, I know! However, I really wasn't trying to be too much of a prick when I stated earlier I couldn't give up where the other one is located (still there and still at 4195.00 too). So when I spotted this one, I figured I'd at least throw someone a bone as that is cheaper than dealer cost on them.

All that being said, go git her!
