Has anyone tried taking game using the 115 dtac? They are essentially the only thing I load in my 6xc and I'd like to take my rifle antelope hunting and take a long shot with it. Will the dtac's work assuming good shot placement or should I invest in a hunting load with some Berger's?

My 10 year old killed a whitetail buck at 280 yards with 6creed 115 Dtac at 2900fps MV. Pretty violent Bullet expansion but worked great. Coyotes are a mess. Bigger canines are anchored nicely no exit.
They would work great on antelope in my opinion.

I imagined they'd behave like a Berger. Not so much expand as turn into a ball of shrapnel.

I used my 6XC with 105 Hybrids - 394 yards. I know they're not designed for hunting, but it did the trick. Having said that, next time I plan to use a bullet designed for hunting.

Match bullets are great for hunting until they don't react inside an animal as hoped...yeah, that probably sounds stupid. I've killed a lot of stuff with various SMKs, but after the last few boiler room run-offs where I lost what I shot I won't do it again. An 80% chance to detonate and anchor game isn't worth the 20% chance that I'll be looking for it for hours. I kill shit all the time out here, but I'm not into making it suffer.

My measly. 02 is that one should do load development with hunting bullets if one intends to hunt with a particular rig.
