Anyone Still Using WC844 or WC846??

Not many places have them in stock any more, but did find some for $254 for 16lbs, plus 10% off and free shipping/hazmat. That makes it about $230 for 16lbs or $115 per keg.

Thought about going with WC846 for bulk/plinking loads for my AR's and M1A

Anyone still like using this stuff?

WC 844 works good for 223 plinking loads. It meters great. Use h335 data.

Most of what I've seen says 844 is like H335 and 846 is like BLC-2... and to basically reduce 10% off their respective charts and work up towards that.

There's also a little bit of prepper mentality I can't shake. 16lbs of BLC-2 would cover .223/7.62/.30-06/6.5cm... the latter two would not be optimal but safe.

BLC-2 might be better in the .308 also. The only thing I have ever used wc844 for in the 308 was 110s.

Hodgdon's site has BLc-2 listed for 6.5cm up to 120/130 grainers as well. 846 might be the ticket then.

I just got some 846 from American Reloading a few months ago. Did some testing and it is pretty hot. Way hotter than what I thought. But it works well. My howa eats anything and shoots 1moa or better, this is no different. I hit pressure at 45.5 in a jagemann 308 case. It went from totally fine at 45.0 to blown primer at 45.5gr. Not a compressed load or anything. Standard CCI LR primer, 175gr Noslser CC.

Right after my initial pressure test, covid happened and I have been unable to do further testing. I wish I would have ordered more than just my 8lbs bottle

I would for sure. It's good stuff. Just start low... very low
