I must be old, less than .40 per.
Yep the cheapest I remember was thirty something cents. When it finally went up to around $.75 or so and it was big news everybody was reporting about could go as high as $1....I vocally said to many “it will NEVER go to a dollar, it’ll never happen” was I young and dumb or what? 😐😐🤔😏

Your not old.

When I was a kid mowing lawns I could buy a gallon of gas and two tootsie rolls for a quarter.

I mowed so many lawns I blew up the lawn mower and replaced it cash for 23$, the deluxe version with bigger wheels.

I mowed lawns for 1$

Right on.

Remember having to twist that damned crank in front of the engine to get it to turn over? Before electronic ignitions? Circa 1930. It was a real bitch in downpours.

This brings back a lot of memories of my triplets that will be 21 in 3 days. 2lbs-11.6oz, 3lbs 9.4oz, and 3lbs 4.9oz, born at 30 wks and 2 days. All over 6' and no long term health issues. Spent 5, 6, and 7 weeks in the NICU, last one came home on father's day. My wife went up during the day twice a day to nurse them and I would go up after working second shift. Seems like a long time ago.

That’s “The Good Stuff”, right there.

That’s great that you got to nurse your triplets like that...:cool:

Yeah, remember .19/gallon. Was mowing lawns as well, and the old man made me pay for the gas.

I did use the nursing pillow to feed two of them bottles at the same time. It was a long time before we slept more than 3 hours at a time.

HS graduation 3 years ago. Their older sister out weighed the three of them when she was born. She is pretty salty that they got all the height in the family.

Lolol! I understand pretty well. My wife and I had preemie twins and she has blackmail pictures of me asleep early AM with a kid in each arm and a bottle for each.

Same here...tell it to my kids and grandkids and they look at me with that 'yea sure' bullshit face.

Well, ya gotta know what you are doing and how to evaluate the water.

Many spillways have a nasty recirculation and will trap and kill a guy.
I know of one that would easily do that yo an 18’ raft......

Was rafting with my family on my own boat on a section of the Cache la Poudre popular with inner tubers. After we were done and back to camp, kid went over a spillway like that in a tube. They never found the body.

$2.19 per cartoon in the commissary overseas in the 80s. I remember ~ $0.30 per pack when I was a teenager. You could trim pennies down and the machines would take them as dimes. Cheapest I remember gas was maybe $0.17.

How about the beer vending machines in the barracks?
Dependent kids would come into the day rooms and spend their quarters on beer and cigarettes.

Squadron commander had two daughters about 16 and 17. One Monday around 0400, the 1st Sgt had a shakedown. Found both of them hiding in lockers. They were thereafter known as Spit and Swallow.
