EDIT: I buried the lede a bit. I need info on ring height primarily- but the first reply was still good info I needed and appreciated!

I have a Swampfox Optics 1-6x24 that's going to be temporarily (unless it works out really nicely) on a Ruger American Predator .308

I am new to bolt actions and have absolutely no idea how to pick out scope ring height for this setup. I'd like something decent under $100, and I dont even know what brands are reputable. Always been in ARs and those are easier for me to vet rings and mounts.

Picatinny style, as I'll either try out the factory rail it came with or pick up an EGW 0 MOA rail instead.

Thanks all.

For $100 I’d look in the optics PX as there are always great deals to be had.

There’s always Seekins or Vortex (made by Seekins) rings for $100 or less and they are excellent quality. I’ve also had great experience with Leupold Mark IV rings around the same price.

I appreciate that. I updated my post as I had multiple questions- any idea what height would work? I've also noticed several manufacturers define "low rings" in vastly different terms.

Yeah generic terms like low and medium don't help as it changes from maker to maker. You don't have to worry about the objective size obviously so a 30mm in the .82-87" range should work fine. Depending on the stock and your face structure you could go up to the .9-1" height range too.

I just snagged some in .82 from the exchange on a great deal. Thanks to all for your help!

Never knew seekins made the vortex rings. Interesting.
