Is this an issue for anyone, or has it happened for anyone? My ar-10 isn't cycling after it was put back together, and the only difference is the ammo I was running. Was shooting 308 Winchester Power point (it was all I could get at the time), now I'm shooting M80 ball and it isn't cycling. I'll try with the Winchester ammo again tomorrow.

What do you mean " Put back together" ?

If you removed the gas block, it might need to be aligned with the gas port.
So the charging handle was jumping out from a bad upper. Sent it back and it came back not cycling well. Took it to gun shop in town and he said it was a bit cockeyed and he fixed it, but the gun still doesn't want to cycle.

Not cycling means different things to different people. What EXACTLY is it doing, or not doing? What is/are the failure symptom(s)? We don't have the gun in hand, nor do we have any pictures or video of the failure. "It don't work right" is not helpful. Help us help you.

Oh, and don't go back to that "gun smith..."

Okay so that smith put it together the first time and it ran, minus the CH problem. So That's why I took it back to him after I got the upper back from the factory and it wasn't cycling.
So right now, it'll fire and spit out the casing, but it won't chamber the next round.
The only difference remaining that I can think of is me running different ammo.

Start with this. Load one round in the mag. Does it lock back on an empty mag? If not, it is short stroking and needs more gas. If it does lock back, you might be sufficiently over-gassed that the BCG is running faster than the mag spring can push up the next round.

Will do. Thanks. I'll test it out later today.

You may want to pick up some of that Winchester Power point for a baseline, as the rifle was cycling with it previously.
