Okay, so walk me through how you all did the signed copies of books

A stack came in over the weekend and guys wanted signed copies so, what was the process several spoke about

I can’t speak to the process, but I’m in for one. Let me know how it works and I’ll get payment to you...

Everyone says they did one for a different book, got signed copies on here,

So trying to figure out what the process was, do we just start a thread, you pay, post a note or a name and I mail it ?

Trying to see how it was done, I paid no attention

Count me in for one. Do you take Paypal?

Dang, ordered one off Amazon a couple days ago and just got shipping notice this morning. But I'd still be in for a signed one if you get it worked out.

    1. Order a pile of author's copies (You already did)
    2. Find the best mailer for USPS shipping, get a bunch
    3. tell your people to send PM / E-mail you their details including their PP or preferred e-mail address
    4. Send fans PP invoice via e-mail for credit card / paypal payment
    5. When payment is received, sign book, click link in PP for print shipping label, put in box apply.
    6. Drop off at post office or schedule a pickup.
Once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty fast, I do a lot of it each day (just not with books).

You could also automate it, have an account upgrade option that says Signed Copy of Book, then tell folks to PM you their name/address for shipping and their PP e-mail so you can match it up and ship out the books. That would save the sending them a PP invoice, but sending them an invoice does make the workflow a lot smoother.

I could send you my copy and include the crayon of my choice. You then mark it with the crayon and send it back.

That's probably the 3rd BN way but probably not the best or easiest way.

Try and use USPS media mail to save ship $$. I'm down for a signed copy or three. Put a signed copy link on website or on here, and watch the money flow in..

When y’all get this shit figured out I’ll take one! And what the hell is a mushroom stamp??!

I'm in for one, feel free to omit the mushroom stamp as that would probably be an expensive upgrade.

I have to set my postage account be up to print pre-paid labels, the USPO here just royally sucks ass to spend any time in the place.

They are truly dick-ish here with their postal people,

So let me restart my account get some boxes to ship and then I will put out a call to signed copies

I need stuff in order upfront has having to do it manually will suck, I would rather print 60 labels then do them one at a time

From what I've heard the way they normally do signed books these days is have the author sign pieces of paper that are then bound into the books. Smaller ones have authors sign books without cov
Here is 3 examples first more mainstream last 2 more gun friendly.

The cheapest way to do it is probably the PO bubble bags and be sure to mention its 'media mail'. That gets the lowest rate.

I’m interested in a signed copy. I’ll only pay more for whichever uses more ink between a real signature and a mushroom stamp though

One other option is if you are taking payments via PayPal for goods / services, depending on your account they have a handy little print shipping label option beside each payment.

@lowlight you may be able to get a bulk mail discount, but I don’t know what the cut off is for it or how to go about finding out.

That having been said, mine arrived today in an Amazon bubble envelope in excellent shape. You can order USPS Priority bubble envelopes for free off USPS.com and they’ll deliver them right to your door, so all you have to do is print the labels and ship ‘em.

Something like Stamps.com or another mail service may be easier/less expensive, I don’t know. But free bubble mailers is hard to beat, and Priority labels can be printed off your regular printer. The downside is unless you have the appropriate stickers, you’ll have to cut out each label and tape it on yourself.

Either way, the book looks great. I’ll dive in as soon as I can, but would still be down for a signed copy at some point if you can figure out a good way of doing it, but no pressure. I’m hoping to attend a class in the next year or two anyway and could just bring it with if I can pull that off. Looks like more of your hard work has paid off, nicely done! :)(y)

I found a used copy on Amazon. Really hoping it's a first addition with pages stuck together because @lowlight fapped to it.
