Annealing for dummies...

Does EVERYONE (or almost everyone) out there do their own annealing and have to get the (somewhat expensive) equipment to do that or do you 1) not anneal very often at all 2) make friends with someone who has an annealer or 3) use a service to do the annealing. Those services ain't all that cheap after postage etc. etc.

Secondary question...if you shooting some basic brass...like Hornady...how many times can you re-load it before annealing becomes a critical issue?

It depends on your chamber. In a standard chamber, maybe 10-12 loads. The way most people who post on this site load, you’ll be lucky to get enough firings on a case before annealing becomes necessary.

What 918 said. Lots of variables on whether annealing will actually affect your ability to hit the target.

All you need is a cordless drill with appropriate sized socket and a small torch. Nothing wrong with having a dedicated annealer, but I don't think the case will know the difference.
