Powder for 308/223 etc

I’ve got 7.5# of H4895 and just not having the results I want from my 308. I’m wanting to start back loading some 77smk 223 and will be loading for a 6arc before long. Would love to find a powder to do all 3.

I’m tempting to go back to varget, as it’ll be great for 308 and 223 but not the ARC... which makes me want to maybe try 8208, since it should work in all 3 calibers.

What say you?

Look at a burn rate chart and see what’s around. 8208 is probably a good place to start.

If you haven't tried AR-Comp you might want to give it a try. I've come to like it better than Varget (mainly because it's cleaner than Varget).

Like others said 8208. I've also had good luck with AR Comp in the 308 and 223. Don't know about Ar Comp in the 6 Arc.

Yes, In a 24" 1-12" 308 bolt gun, I get 2650 FPS with 42.0 Grs. W/ a 175 & 178. Very good S/D E/S. Accurate load.

Still can’t decide on 8208 or varget for 308/223 for 175gr/77gr projectiles

I am using shooters world precision. 25.5 grains with 77gr TMK @ 2.311. 2909 FPS with an SD of 5

8208 and ar comp are very similar powders in performance. I would recommend either one for 308 or 223. They both work well for 120-130grain bullets in 6.5 creemoor as well in my experience. I use a lot of ar comp in my dillon 650s for bulk 223 and bulk 308. I was loading all 168 grain in 308
