New into suppressors. Have a TBAC ultra 9 and 5 30 cal. Is it worth it to make your own can when less accuracy is required? (22lr, 45acp, 10mm, 5.56)

My dad owns a machine shop, so i could probably do a pretty good job constructing something myself.

How much do they typically cost? Is the background check quicker than a standard application?

Thanks!

form 1s right now are taking about 1 month.

as for cost, the tax is $200 + whatever you want to spend on the can.....expect to spend anywhere from $100-400

regarding the machine shop, just make sure you are the one actually manufacturing it.....if someone else is cutting parts for you, you can get into hot water pretty damn fast.

as stated, the easiest method would be to buy a "solvent trap"....and then just drill a few holes.

also im not quite sure what you mean by "less accuracy required"...less accuracy in terms of manufacturing? because that is certainly not the case

You sure on this? I’m pretty sure you need to be present but I do not believe you have to be the actual person running the lathe/mill

The owner Drills end cap to Tax stamp diameter specs then sends EC and tube/cones to a SOT For final machining...Use Fed-Ex/UPS as the SOT can return your parts to you Via USPS but you can’t send to the SOT using USPS.

I built my 9mm can from a solvent trap sold by Quiet Bore. Super easy process, approved in about 35 days. I shoot pistol as well as a blind man drives a car, so I saw no need for an expensive can. Just wanted to look operator and have some fun.

If you have access to a machine shop, this is a no brainer. Check out this site, as you will find more info there.

What are you guys using for a booster system specifically for the quietbore kits.
