Mcmillan Z1 stock

Has anyone had any experience with the Z1 stock and what were your thoughts?
a Guy on my squad at the guardian match at gti had one I got behind it for a short minute, my initial thoughts are that it’s pretty amazing! The thumb shelf is perfect. Honestly pretty badass. I’m not a huge fan of the chassis systems I’m much more in tune with the traditional style a-5 stocks but I also like the idea of the modularity of the chassis. Now you can actually have both which I am pleased to see. i Currently am awaiting information from Mcmillan about purchasing one. Talked with them Friday probably won’t here back until after SHOT show but I’m in after my time behind one. It was that good

There doesn't seem to be a lot of info about this stock so I thought I would add my opinion.

I've had a couple range trips with mine now. So far I really like it. I've had multiple chassis on various rifles and so far this is what I've been looking for. I've found that my personal preference is for stocks, not chassis. I'm 6'5'' with long arms and this is the most comfortable I've been able to get behind a rifle. The cheek piece adjustment, grip angle, palm swell, thumb shelf, and grip to trigger spacing work great for me. My origin with a m24 contour barrel dropped right in with plenty of barrel space to go. I used a grayboe bottom metal but it is a M5 inlet so there are lots f options there are lots of options there.

I added a area 419 arca rail, unfortunately the bolt spacing for the McMillan picatinny rail doesn't work well if you want the arca rail to come back to near the magwell. I had to add 3 new anchor point for the rail. The rail is designed around manners measurements so it is what it is. There are probably other options that would be closer to bolt on ( I would still add more mounting points) but this is what I already had.

McMillan now has a rail designed for the Z series on their site. I believe it’s made by Henderson.

I think that rail only fits the z10 and a10. They do have a universal rail as well though.

Even with them I still would add additional mounting points. 2 seems a little light duty. I already had the area 419 from another stock so it was a no brainier for me.
