@deersniper how is that elite iron bipod? Thinking about getting one myself. Emailed them asking about what I need to buy for AXSA, no response in over a week now. Can you tell me what components you purchased to fit it to the AI? How has it been working out?

ive got 2 of them, regular offset panning bipods. Try calling them Dale and Kathy are great folks but they are a small shop.

^ those are known as long legged rats here

Carry Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain fever. Now the lone star tick that makes you allergic to red meat and pork.

Glad we can get permits to shoot them. They need eradicated

You need a permit other than just a hunting license to shoot whistle pigs (ground hogs?)

Do I spy a tuner?

You do, my friend. That barrel is shooting hand loads that were tailored for my other dasher and now, they shoot equally well. Before the tuner, it shot that ammo over 1" groups. No miss. Shoots super tight now.

Are you direct threading your can in front of it or you using an ASR mount assuming that's an Omega?

Direct thread and no, it is a poor man's omega, the Harvester 30.

Could you run an ASR mount with that tuner?

I can't remember from the other thread and can't find it now either, did your barrel have to be turned down for the tuner?

I'm pretty sure you can run it with an asr mount. And no, I did nothing to my barrel at all. Uses existing muzzle threads.

That hunk of junk is a Griffin Armament Recce 5 in 5.56. You can shoot 6mm through most 556 cans. This can is not my favorite. I hate the mounts, the tone, the looks, etc. it was cheap so I bought it. My TBAC 338SR is in jail. #freewilly.

The rifle is Norma Jean. She’s so fine.

AI AX 24” 6mm CM with Leica PRS.
I purchased this rifle from Mile High a few months ago.
I was deciding between a Leupold Mk4 and an S&B but learned that Leica had entered the PRS game with a 5-30 scope.
A quick call to my Leica supplier, CameraLand, also good guys, Joel and Doug, had the reticle I wanted in stock and off it was shipped. One brother does Sport Optics and one does Cameras. Damned if I can keep them apart!
The reticle is a simple cross hairs with lighted dot.
I’m not ready for Mils and MOA.
Mostly everyone uses Sphur mounts and so Mile High sent me the appropriate mount.
Ammo came from the Group buy from Prime Ammo, 2000 rnds of 6cm 115 Match.

Today I bore sighted at 25 yds and brought the cross hairs to the general center of the target, inserted the bolt, cartridge and boom.
Right on target, easy peasy.
Out to 100 but found I had not dialed in enough drop and so back to 25 yd and then 50yd, one shot each.
BINGO.
For me the Leica scope has a narrow eye box and my cataracts don’t help.
The lighted ‘pip’ was a great help.
Typical group at 100 yds is shown.
We blew through a box of 20 in a short time.
Expensive shooting.
Rifle/scope is about 15#’s, so no recoil, like shooting a 22lr.
I need to get my prints rolled again to order a ThunderBeast.
I do have two SIG 5.56 suppressors but am reluctant to shoot the 6mm without any guidance from SIG.
An Area 419 brake is on in the meantime.
The trigger is a two stage and once you get to the second stage, there is absolutely no creep and about 2-3 #’s.
Best trigger of any center fire rifle I have owned or shot.
Next is 300 yds-Dick
BTW, that is not a magazine in the rifle but a ‘Sled’, allows for inserting a round through the loading port rather than inserting a loaded magazine.

I have to thank this forum and the users for all the information I gleaned to help make this purchase possible and to actually be able to punch some paper.-Richard

For anyone who is curious. 6CM feeds like butter in the new full size S/A mags of the ASR/AXSR. No hang ups at all. Fast, slow, medium. It just seems to run so far. This is with Berger 105s seated 2.810.

Are those mags and S/A bolt out now?

The mags can be had but the bolts I don’t think have been released yet. Mine came with the ASR kit. I think I heard August release for the 308 bolts.

Brothers and sisters. Presenting the reason you want the ASR kit: AI swag! How about some AI marked cleaning rods. It comes with a multiple piece and a one piece cleaning rod.

I'm working on getting 408 CT components for my Cadex. Can't find dies and bullets. Got 200 rounds of Peterson's brass so far.

Have you checked with Whidden on the .408 dies? If they are out of stock, I know PTG just had a big sale on their .408 dies. They had a ton of them in stock. A couple guys we shoot with got them from there. Also, Cutting edge has the 425 or 450 grain lazers in stock now too. They shoot awesome in my friends shadows. Hope that helps!

My wandering mind would love to see an AXSR with forend removed and Atlas bipod attached to the short arca section in front of the mag-well. Would love to know the weight of that thing is in that configuration, especially with a proof barrel installed. Just wondering what the absolute lightest configuration is, and how functional it might look! Thanks to anyone who actually does this!

@samb300 , is that chassis all machined aluminum? if so, you probably arent going to sell many up north because of the cold. I hope it has some type of skin because i love the looks of it.

Yes, it’s 7075 aluminum. The grip section uses the factory AI plastic grip panels, but yes the entire forend is aluminum like an ACC or MPA.
