Steiner Bino Adapter screw?

I've been looking for a way to use my Steiner binos 10x50 on a tripod. However all the mounts come with a 1/4"-20 thread. Doesnt work for my binos. I found only one company that made the adapter and no longer has it . I'm not 100% sure but I believe the thread in the steiner binos is M8 1.0 . From what I was told. I need help!

Probably not the answer you are looking for but worse case scenario get a 1/4x20 tap and go to town on it.

The tripod adapter I have is that size. It slides right in. I thought about maybe just showing a helicoil.

I believe so. They told me it's a M8 1.0. The 1/4 bolt slides right in

Threads look way thinner than m8x1
I have a buddy who is a wiz on a lathe making a batch hopefully soon.
Going to pull the calipers out this weekend and get him measurments of the stock stud.
