What do you guys think? I think it might strike at the heart strings for many if he nominates now and that may negatively effect the election. I think many Dems that might have voted for Trump might swing the other way if he decides to go ahead with the nomination. What do you thinks more important? Hmmmm...what do you think guys? It’s important that we get out and vote this Nov. that way if Trump wins we get both.

do it now, get the person on the bench in time a contested resolution... the votes are locked in at this point... the only ones that might not be are those that would be aghast at Biden's performance on the debates that were voting Blue... if it is to be a contested election and thrown to the court, we need this person on the bench waiting... no one who is voting Red will change their vote, because they know this is more than just about SCOTUS seats... this is about the sanctity of the Constitution and the stabilizing of the foundation of the country...

So, walk-away Dems will vote for Trump if he waits until after the election to nominate a Justice. Either way he nominates a Justice. If they are single issue voters with the Supeme Court being that issue, then it doesn't make a difference when Trump nominates a Justice. However, that assumes people are rational and capable of critical thinking...a big mistake. So who knows?

Anything that trump can put forward in his 2nd term can be undone by another president, just like all the regulations Obama put forward that trump reversed. A Supreme Justice can not be undone. He needs to put a true conservative justice forward. The 2 he previously put in are still questionable. Ive been saying since 2016, Ted Cruz is better fit for the supreme court than president. He'd be my pick.

If he doesn’t nominate (very little chance he won’t) and Mitch doesn’t basically force a vote we may lose the WH and Senate. This is the moment the base has been waiting for.

I fully expect about 30 the commie rat bastards to DD down toMexico and hole up at a resort until after the election to try to avoid a vote. This will be pushback like we have never seen before.

My thoughts about pushing a nomination thru effecting Trump's re-election is the same as my view about the GOP Senators that are going to hem and haw.....it ain't a job for life so get the fuck over it and do what is necessary to protect our Constitution for the next 35 years or so. Vote in a SCOTUS jurist NOW.

    Its just too damn important.

So what happens if we get the worst of BOTH worlds? i.e., Trump and McConnell force a vote on someone, and they LOSE that vote - several R Senators have already said they likely wouldn't vote.

Then Trump is seen in an even more negative light AND we lose the pick. Lose-lose.

Do it. Do it now. I vote for presidents specifically for the Supreme Court. It's not as if we didn't know this was coming. He should have a nomination ready to announce immediately and it should be done asap. Wtf is wrong with people thinking nothing should happen until after the election. 6 weeks, 16 weeks, 66 weeks, it doesn't matter how long before the election she died the president has an obligation to nominate someone. If she hadn't been propped up for the last two years this would have been done already.

Why wait? Democrats would certainly not!

Pretty sure this election will ultimately be decided by SCOTUS - if we have 8 Justices, it can be deadlocked/split without resolution. Gotta have 9......

Not one single vote will be swayed by what Trump does for the Presidential Elections. Everyone, everyone has their mind made up and literally nothing will change it. Unfortunately this will not be the case for Republicans running in potentially hotly contested races to keep their seats in the Senate. They are not guaranteed no matter what.

So they better choose wisely or the Red Franchise will lose the Senate, the Blue franchise will keep the House and win the Senate and then, when Trump wins, he'll be impeached within months. This is gonna be a shit show - we need 9 Justices.

    VooDoo

Does anyone have a copy of this list of "Democrats that are going to vote Republican"?

I would like to see it.

NOTE: If the copy you have is only about 10 pages long - and single spaced typing, it probably it NOT a list that will make any significant difference this election.

Additionally, it would also be helpful if your list had addresses on it. If they all live in New York or California, it certainly will not make a difference.

The dems are already outwardly warning that it could cost Trump the election if he places a judge.

A warning from the left means they are scared and we should definitely appoint before the election.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush.

and? I wouldn't expect them to say he would win if he did this.... they are blowing gas in your face trying to frighten people... this will have no effect on the voting of any individual, left or right.. this election is baked fully right now.... the only votes that will change could be those from the centrist left who become stunned by Biden and his debate performances.... this seat on SCOTUS needs to be filled now to address a contested election... the LAST thing we need is for Pelosi to be sitting in the Oval while this is hashed out...

Agreed. Anything the dems say, the opposite direction is the right direction.

Per “painting trump in a bad light” uhhhhhh the dems color trump as hitler, you know, the guy who supposedly killed 6 million jews? How could they paint him in a worse light.

He needs to hurry the fuck up and nominate someone.

Not only that, but consider the way Dems treated Kavanaugh. Even my few liberal acquaintances were embarrassed with the Democrats behavior. This time around Dems will straight up castigate any candidate put forth.....and be on full parade for the country to see them implode on live tv. I believe the Democrats 3 1/2 years of anger and tantrums will erupt into one enormous implosion in the Senate. This seat has to be filled pronto and if Trump did't push for this I'd of been sorely disappointed in him.

“Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.”

The DemoCommunists live that HL Mencken quote every breathing moment.

    The Republicans rarely.

Now is the time to hoist the flag.

I think it is proof that RBG has been dead for years and they rolled this out in desperation now.

There are plusses and minuses to nominating.

Honestly, I think there are going to be RINO slimeball Senators who are going to make it a moot point anyway. Romney already said no. Collins said no.

I think the 'replacement' motivates Republicans as much as Democrats. And the court is now potentially tied... but is weighted conservative.

Going to be an interesting few weeks. On the bright side... DC is gonna burn down!!! All the freaks are converging.

    Sirhr

Given the platform the shitbags are running, I don't think it much matters if a new Justice gets appointed before or after the election, unless appointing a Justice is necessary to sort out the election. A favorable Supreme Court doesn't do a lick of good if the nation is fundamentally destroyed.

Do it now to counter the pedophile's buddy CJ Roberts. The left has dirt on him and he needs to step down yesterday as well

The Amy Barret choice does not look bad at this point.
    No #MeToo movement accusations

The libs will bring up her catholic religion to fight against abortion issues, but that's about it.

If not her get a conservative constitutionality on Monday morning

candice owens and be done with it.
She is not a lawyer....I don’t even think she has a degree. While there has been others in WW2 time frame that didn’t have degrees, they all passed the bar. Granted there is no constitutional requirements other than being 30 and a US citizen to be elected as a Supreme Court justice. She would just qualify for it it since she turned 31 last April? I guess.

Was just thinking that he shod nominate a conservative black woman so the left can eat crow.

    not a lawyer? no degree?

PERFECT! probably explains why she has her mind so right. she’s a lioness of freedom, with a razor sharp intellect and the ability to stand toe to toe and shred whomever is against her.

amy barret is another excellent choice. but i’d still go with candice owens before amy. doesnt matter anyway....i aint the prez.

The only people who are still going to possibly change their vote are the Democrats who are sick and tired of all the bullshit.

Who in the hell doesn't know who they are voting for at this point, and whose mind could actually be changed?

Nominate and confirm. The Democrats have done nothing but try to destroy Trump. Give no favors, get it done.

Honestly No. I mentioned in another thread. the Tables are set, while vocal, the amount amount of people who actually care about this issue were already vehemently against Trump from the pussy grabbing comments in the campaign. The same upper middle class, suburban white women that dawned pussy hats are the same dickheads that are now losing it over RGB,

Just because RGB dies doesn't magically increase the number of upper middle class, college educated, suburban, self loathing white women that are available to vote.

They say they are really mad and will riot... Most normal people are like, Seriously, give it a fucking rest. They have been at it for almost 3 months now because some felon got killed by the police after their 25th time resisting arrest.

Seriously, this is all theater. Nobody really cares about this shit

Michelle Malkin is another firebrand thats out of the same mold as Owens that loves America and should get honorable mention.

Fuck the Left and their color coded hypocrisy.

A female or female of color disarms the resistance and makes it more likely the pick is confirmed. All the self loathing white suburban women can’t protest and complain if the pick has a vagina between her legs, and all the race baiters can’t protest and complain if the pick is of color. The worst thing Trump could to is pick a white male as it would activate those groups more than other choices.

Trying to play devil’s advocate, Females are 51% of the population and there are only 2 remaining females on the court (ok, maybe just one as I suspect Kagan is a dude), although I don’t support affirmative action, I can see why women feel underrepresented. According the the census the country is 60.6% white, there are only two people of color (Thomas and Sotomayor), so I could see where people of color feel underrepresented. This picture doesn’t look like the true mix of America in 2020. A black or Hispanic would work, but preferably an Asian or Indian type would also fit. Too bad Nikki Haley doesn’t have a legal background. For the record, Ted Cruz is a fucking asshole. The only benefit to having him on the court would be not hearing from him basically ever again.
