Local charity supporting sexual assault and domestic violence gets my Smile funds. Glad to see GoA is getting some, though!

Lots of gun control charities listed. A few state-level gun rights outfits. Not very many at the national level. In addition to GOF, the National Foundation for Gun Rights is listed as is the NRA. Lots of state and local gun clubs.

    Bezos...
    1) sticks $5 in his pocket.
    2) spends $0.75 to destroy the constitution.
    3) sends $0.05 to whoever so you'll feel like you're making a difference and in turn buy more from him. Which he will, 1, 2, 3...

You'd come out better by sending dollar for dollar contributions to your favored gun rights group and Bloombergs every town and just slam your dick in the truck door instead of buying shit you don't need from a communist.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know the money actually gets to said organization?
Great question! The short answer is you don't.

I think the backlash from a company lying about something like that would far outweigh any short term benefit they could gain, if discovered.

My wife told me about Amazon Smile a few years back, sounded good so I signed up. I've only ever used Amazon for small things such as cell phone cases or car charges and things like that. Probably less than $100 a year.

Here's why I choose not to spend money with them.
We've always given to St Jude. Not much but a few hundred each year, especially since having kids. When using an easy button like Amazon Smile. 1: they remain profitable on the items their selling. 2: Amazon gets credit for the charitable contribution, and lastly the charity you choose to donate to WILL get less money than if you just wrote them a check. Which was very true in our case.

The charitable contributions don't add up to 5% of their sales either... *eligible purchases* as their site states. 2 websites for the same products, your account won't default to Smile Amazon when logging in and must people won't bookmark the correct site. Seems if they were really concerned about giving to charities they would change that.

And Bezos publicly supports BLM and was happy to lose customers . So he can eat a big bag of dicks!

Exactly! Thanks for posting that. That’s the way I feel about it. That’s worst case scenario. Slightly better is that you are just giving Bezos more free money in the guise of going to charity, which in turn he is pocketing or donating to Antigun groups anyways. I suppose you could somehow get tax records for this kind of thing, maybe. At minimum I’d be calling or writing whoever it is you are donating to through this program and ask them if they are actually associated with Amazon Smile and are actually getting the funds. I’d be shocked if they actually were. I’d also quit shopping at Amazon. Arent they a known antigun company? @Lil Casino @fdkay

IIRC Bezos tried to stay out of the firearm politics up until 2018 or so...I could be wrong. That's one reason why I stopped using Amazon altogether and go directly to St Jude and GOA.

Problem is, many people don't care about the politics and only want the best price or cheapest product. I've got some co workers like this who will always vote conservative yet keep feeding the machine regardless of who or what that company supports.

I see a lot of this as well. However, it’s hard for me to jump down their case because let’s be honest, if we boycotted everyone that had an antigun stance you wouldn’t be buying from hardly anyone. I’d wager you’d probably have a hard time finding anyone that wasn’t in some way antigun, sadly.

    I couldn't agree more!

You: Hey I just donated to charity! I'm so glad I helped them.
Business: Glad we tricked these sheeple into helping us get a tax write-off....Bonuses are UP!!!
