Howdy

I have recently installed a KRG Bravo on my Tikka T3X CTR. Here about a month ago, I noticed that the magazine would unseat after 3 rounds. Not sure what is going on?

Has anybody here had this problem?

Thanks

Does the Magazine fit loosely in the stock? You can tighten up the fit by loosening the rear part of stock and sliding it forward some. Also you can loosen the forearm screws (6) and sliding the forearm back. I usually seat the mag and slide the forearm back till it is snug and then tighten down the forearm screws. I would rather it be a little snug to fit then have it come loose too easily. I imagine that is your problem is too much play causing it come loose from the mag catch. What kind of Magazine you using?

Thank you for the info. I will check it out tomorrow. Im running the stock Tikka mags

Should be good with those. I know the Poly Magpuls are too thick at the feed lips and have to be ground down to fit high enough to catch the mag latch. I got one to fit but now if you load more than 6 or 7 round they wont stay in the mag. If you go too KRG sight they have instructions on installing the stocks and adjusting for mag fit. Good luck

KRG Bravo for Tikkas use AICS mags, not Tikka Mags.

You can get a Bravo for the Tikka that will use just the CTR mags not sure if that is the version he has or not. If he does have the AICS only chassis that could well be his problem.

The Bravo has a funky adjustment for magazines. I wish it had no adjustment. Every other stock gets away without it. My magazines go in nice but I find that they unlock easily in the field, but they also won’t drop free. I haven’t fiddled with it since I put it together.

It may seem counter intuitive. but you actually want the looser fit when making this adjustment on a KRG chassis. I did the same thing at first, getting the fit as tight as I could. I later realized that if you make the fit tight enough that mag release latch is always compressed, it's like having that latch partially depressed, which means even a light bump on the latch could result in unintentionally dropping the mag. The tip of the mag release latch that engages the notch on the back of a magazine (either AICS/AW or Tikka CTR) is cut at an angle. If the back of the mag is pressing against the latch, the mag release latch becomes a hair trigger - it's already partially depressed.

I had problems with an older set of AW mags dropping from recoil of the rifle. I cursed the KRG mag adjustment system and it's only when it was a tight as I could make it and couldn't make it any tighter, did I realize the problem. I moved the trigger/mag release assembly further back and the mag latch snapped in and the problem was eliminated.

Understanding it now, I appreciate the design.
