Hey everybody, I am new to the site and wanted to post something I had a question about. I have been looking at purchasing a Southfork rifle for a while now. I read some older post about this rifle platform from back in 2019. I was wondering if anybody had any new updates about the rifle? Also, what type of Defiance action comes standard in the rifle? Has anybody asked asked them to upgrade it to one of their other actions? I want to get into more longer range shooting but there are so many platforms out there it's hard to pick one.

What do you mean by better?
I don’t think that defiance would put out anything under their standards for everything else no matter what the name on the side. I think they just looked at their vast pool of experience and said “we can make something for the price point with the best results by doing xyz and that’s the result, you just don’t get to customize anything.
If you like it, get it. You won’t have made a poor choice. You could have been shooting it for a year now ;)

Thanks for the info. I guess the main thing is figuring out do I want to spend that amount of money and have them do the work and get a complete rifle or does it make more sense to take the time and possibly more money to custom build one. Decisions... decisions.......

With all the available quality components right now I would 100% build over buy. Choose your receiver, prefit, and chassis then bolt and go. You can hand pick components to get exactly what you’re wanting.
