So I lost an eye about 10 years ago after a bullet fragment went through my cheap glasses, they did slow it down enough to keep me from real damage.
Since then I have became a glasses snob. I have been wearing Oakley si glasses for years. I have tried Wiley, gatorz, smiths. Still like the Oakley the best.

I have noticed doesn’t seem like technology has advanced much in the last 10 year on ballistic grade glasses.

I got through a couple pairs a year just from wearing them everyday all day.
are there any Other brands I should give a try?

I like the Crossbow series from ESS. I recently replaced my ESS ICE series with those because I was interested in a polarized lens. I really like how the frame wraps around my head. I sometimes have trouble finding eye wear because my face is a little slender. So, some frames are just too big for me. I can be looking straight down at something, in the crossbow shields, and they don't move at all. Very comfortable.

If you don’t mind spending a bit, look at Randolph Rangers. These are interchangeable lens wire frame type glasses that you will commonly see shotgunners wearing.
Thick lens and they hold off the face to reduce chance of fogging.

Oakley SI Ballistic M Frame 2.0 . I really like them because they accept the ESS prescription inserts and there are several different lenses available for various shooting conditions.

I've been using Pilla for 15 years now.

Maybe something to check out. I don’t know anything about them, but Rogan mentions Roka as a podcast sponsor every now and then after he went shoot at Taran Tactical a few times. They have a tactical line.

Expensive but a step up in versatility

ESS crossbows with MSA headset. They are great. They are thin but stay on. Do not effect the headset. Depending on what ears you use.

Same. Check out ESS Crossbow Supressor. They are super thin and fit under ear pro and also have a strap that clips on and you can change the lenses too.

I kinda like Oakley.

Oakley Airdrop regular Rx

Oakley Half Jacket XLJ, Rx polarized

Oakley Flak Jacket XL, Rx polarized

Oakley M Frame 2.0, non-rx with polarized grey, clear, and orange lenses.

My Rx takes me from like 20/30 astigmatism back to 20/20 clear. Sometimes I forget to put on my Rx stuff Lol

I've been looking for a set with prescription that doesn't fog. So far the ONLY set I've found that never fogs is the SSP. They're vented at the top. BUT....the bifocal part of the lenses scratch waaaaay too easily. Every set I have is unusable. I need bifocal style to see distant target through scope. I can't read my turrets w/o bifocal part.. :geek:

I love Pilla

Best I have used

I must be a poor, because I have never even thought about spending $900 on a pair or shooting glasses

In training I shoot a lot of steel at close quarters and prefer Revision Military and Oakley Cross Link styles. I need a slight dominant eye acuity correction for seeing pistol front sight closely, not needed for red dot optics, so these two brands have good protection with optometrist corrective lens options. Also when spending good money on safety glasses a few bucks more use Pelican cases to prevent them from being crushed in the range bag!
