I am so F$?@€%! SICK OF AMMO PRICES. Sorry for the anger but I just went to a shop here after I called and they said they were open and have 9mm fmj for a dollar a peice. Get there they closed and we’re running out of one of their other stores. Out of town. Now if I had the cash and a better vehicle I’d definitely go get it but also for 50 dollars for a box of full metal jackets count 50. No I draw the line at certain places and certain things and I cannot justify putting my car thru the work of traveling an hour just for a single box of ammo. Anyone else feeling my upsetness? It’s crazy that no one has ammo period. I just wanna go to the range and practice a bit. Now I have to go online and I hate shopping online. I have little trust for the internet. Specially when I’ll be paying a few hundred for 9mm ammo. Ahh thanks for letting me vent guys lol

How old are you? Stock up on ammo when things relax in a year or 2. Than get ready for this to happen again. Sucks but its the nature of the beast.

I went to Academy this afternoon. (And every other day on my way out)
bought 300 rounds of .22 for 9 cents each,
60 rounds of Winchester .308 soft points for $1.30 each ,
And 150 9mm for 26 cents each.
mall MSRP prices.
Last weekend Bass Pro had 9mm limit 200 rounds for 25 cents each, this weekend .40 S&W for ???
Just keep looking.
I’ll probably shoot most of it pretty soon as a reward.

It is aggravating, but I recall panics back to the OKC bombing and I’m sure there were panics before that.
It’ll settle down, though I’m waiting till after the election to see what gun I want to put together next.

I've had really good luck driving deep into the country. This weekend I found every type of primer, about 50 different powders and just about every hornady and sierra bullet in stock at a single shop. CCI 400 SRPs were $5.20/ 100 box, but everything else was priced normally.

People used to say, it's not worth it to reload 9mm. Heh.
No offense, but if you don't have a car that can reliably make a 1hr drive then maybe that should take priority over paying $50/box for some ammo. There is more to being prepared then just ammunition. Also, not using the internet to your advantage in this day and age is crazy. You are posting on a discussion forum, ordering ammo is easy.
It will get better (just like the previous shortages that lasted 3 -18 months). I’d bet that’s likely early next year after manufacturing has ramped up a bit more and other bills sap the cash of the newby gun owners.
I just traded 2 Magpul 7.62/.308 AC 10 round mags ( I've switched to MDT 10 rounders) for 150 rounds of 147 Gr. Speer Gold Dot G2 Rev. 2. I have almost as much good to decent defensive 9mm as I have 124 Gr. Nato Spec. Winchester. I bought 2 cases of the Nato Spec. back when I found a deal for 30 cents or less per round sometime in 2018.

I still have several cases of Federal American Eagle .45 ACP FMJ that I paid $8.25 per box of 50 or $190.00 per case shipped, that’s after selling several cases to those in need during the first round with Obama.
I bought two cases of Remington 185HP HTP ammo for basically the same price.
No telling what it is selling for now if you could even find it.
I guess it depends on if it’s worth it to you? Like others have said, keep looking around online. Ask people you know that live elsewhere, or that are taking trips. I’ve found some stuff that way as well. I’ve also bought some overpriced things as well

If you don’t have a vehicle reliable enough to go out of town, you shouldn’t be spending money on practice ammo.

I remember a paperback book sold as a supposed green French beanbag hat type of t.m. Manual that started out telling you how to make your own gunpowder. It told you how to do it as if you were in a third world country. Man I’d love to have a well rounded “survival” library again.

I know everyone is like "shoulda stocked up" but its still very frustrating to see things get crazy. Handgun has been especially hard hit and really put a crimp in my USPSA shooting and I am not alone. The other part of the frustration is it people who are buying and hoarding, not people buying and using that causes the panics--a la toilet paper. Its frustrating to see people act like freakin imbeciles whether its over toilet paper, milk, or 9mm ammo (Its the same asshats every day who go in and buy it up--it is not NEW SHOOTERS).

I survived the TP shortage, the great "gas shortage" of that one week where Dallas lost its mind, and doing lots of rifle shooting over handgun right now.

You have no idea if someone is buying something for an elderly care facility, a childcare facility, a homeless shelter, the VFW or if they are LDS with 12 wives and 24 kids, lol.
That is akin to Politicians saying you only need 3 guns; 1 pistol, 1 centerfire and 1 shotgun.
