So sick of it all.

Hi,

Except you do not get to dictate how much of what someone should be allowed to buy.
You have no idea if someone is buying something for an elderly care facility, a childcare facility, a homeless shelter, the VFW or if they are LDS with 12 wives and 24 kids, lol.

That is akin to Politicians saying you only need 3 guns; 1 pistol, 1 centerfire and 1 shotgun.

Sincerely,
Theis

I am fully aware. I also am aware that people abuse the system all the time. It is the price we pay.

I also can make a pretty educated guess when people are panic buying. I am by no means omnicient, and thus not perfect. But I know damn well all those people weren't "in need" and were instead panic buying/hoarding. As you correctly point out, no law against that, how our society works.

What it comes down to is I am very tired of playing by the rules, being nice, and getting screwed while others flaunt the system. I therefore exercising my right to be a grumpy old asshole. No one liked me when I was nice, so now they will just leave me alone.

Thanks Blutroop, but was just curious. You’re the first I’ve heard that actually owns one.
I’m not normal. But when I got it I only had a warm out .223 sp1 style upper as primary defense/hunting rifle and was getting into hunting coyotes. My barrel was 1/12 twist so had to shoot light bullets. Light bullet ammo in 223/556 was just as expensive as Valkyrie so I jumped on a barrel on sale. Then I built a 17rem ar upper and had to strip 224v for parts.

There’s not a lot of islands in Wyoming huh?
if your reloading and have supplies then you should have lots of fun. On the flip side when regular ammo is so expensive it takes some of the sting away from buying 224v, 458socom, 300 win mag, all the stuff I normally won’t touch cause of high prices seem reasonable in comparison. (My stores didn’t go up on stuff like that.

You're ok paying $50 for a few mags worth of 9mm but won't drive your car an hour?

Out of the 4 vehicles I have sitting outside only 1 is worth more than $2500 and I'd have no issues driving any of them an hour.

Get it together man

Apparently in another thread he reloads. I think he is trying to increase thread count or just trying to make conversation.
give him a chance to take his foot out his mouth

People used to say, it's not worth it to reload 9mm. Heh.
That was just end of last year... peoples on here saying 223, 556, and 9mm weren't worth reloading, waste of time, etc because they were so cheap.

Haw haw, now who's the punk?

*sounds of laughter in 9mm and 5.56*

At the time they weren't worth it for me to reload... but i kept my brass.... i bought a ton of factory ammo and powder primers and bullets... now I can shoot through all this crap for atleast a few yrs.

I thought I was good with a few thousand rounds of everything back in Febuary, but slowly I worked my way through my supply and now I don't want to risk even shooting 9mm in fear of running out.

Don't know where you are at, in the PNW we have a chain of stores Bi-Mart they have been getting ammo in on a regular basis not allot but some and they don't gouge you just have to check in regularly. If you are nice they will even tell you what days they usually get ammo. I would guess you may have a local chain that does the same thing if you look around.

When President Trump wins in November ammo problems will begin to correct, the Covid crisis will suddenly no longer be a crisis and within 6 months or less ammo will be available / affordable.

Still frustrating. (I wasn't allowed to go to the store for a while as I would cause a ruckus if I saw an idiot--yes free market buy what you want. Free speech, I can say HEY LOOK AT THE ASSHOLE BUYING 20 GALLONS OF MILK EVERYBODY, or GOOD THING YOU BOUGHT 400 ROLLS OF TP TO WIPE THAT FAT ASS).

Call me a male Karen or whatever. Retards need to be called out.
Don't be surprised if someone cashes your check then. Sounds like your wife didn't want you to come home with a black eye or worse.

Personally I would have loudly invited you to try to do something about it if you didn't like what I was buying or how much.

One raging asshole was quite enough thank you. Two could have gotten out of hand.

I am pessimist but I do not see the ammo shortage getting better until after the next midterm provided trump wins and the senate stays in republican control (neither of which I see happening).

Yeah last craze with the 22 it was 18+ months before that showed up again. Post election it may ease up, but if Biden goes after ammo sales, watch it go double-secret probation crazy,

While I can see Biden going after ammo sales, and that not passing into a full on ban but likely a national california/ ammo sales need to go through a FFL, I am pretty sure it will get worse. Plus ammo companies will ratchet up costs/ ratchet down supply.

I am so F$?@€%! SICK OF AMMO PRICES. Sorry for the anger but I just went to a shop here after I called and they said they were open and have 9mm fmj for a dollar a peice. Get there they closed and we’re running out of one of their other stores. Out of town. Now if I had the cash and a better vehicle I’d definitely go get it but also for 50 dollars for a box of full metal jackets count 50. No I draw the line at certain places and certain things and I cannot justify putting my car thru the work of traveling an hour just for a single box of ammo. Anyone else feeling my upsetness? It’s crazy that no one has ammo period. I just wanna go to the range and practice a bit. Now I have to go online and I hate shopping online. I have little trust for the internet. Specially when I’ll be paying a few hundred for 9mm ammo. Ahh thanks for letting me vent guys lol

So do you ever start thinking dark thoughts about conspiracy??? Sure, there is Covid and its attendant worries, and then comes Defund The Police IDIOCY, plus the moronic anarchy of looting burning and shooting........NOT TO MENTION the possibility of getting BasementBiden the gunhater into office........

But still.......

Less than a year ago you'd go into a gun shop and they'd not have enough shelves for all their ammo, and more sitting in storage containers out back. Prices were Trumptastic!!! Things were good in the gun world, so to speak........

Then............................

It's not like all the above added to demand while the ammo manufacturers couldn't keep up...............

It's MUCH more like all the above jacked demand while new ammo completely dried up.

Thank You, Lord, for having me prepare! "Blessed be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. Psalm 144:1.

Man, you must plan on a LOT of close-in battle!!!! Or else you're planning a lifetime of Charles Bronson.

Nope I'm just that fucking good, all I need is a couple of 30 rd mags of 556 to defeat a standing army. 🤣🤣🤣
Ammo isn't just for going bang it's a currency when paper money isn't worth wiping your ass with 😉

“Guns vs. Butter vs. Dollars vs. Gold.
In an Antifa/anarchist world, ammo and a steady hand are worth all the above combined.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, but be prepared.

Don't shoot a lot of .45, but I'm retired now and try to go to the range twice a week, so I probably go through at least 100 rounds of 5.56 and 100 rounds of 9mm every week. In ten weeks that's 1000 rounds in each caliber. In a year that's 5000 rounds. So I totally understand where XLR308 is coming from. If you want to be able to keep shooting and not have to pay $1 per round for 9mm you are an asshole if you don't have a couple of thousand rounds in reserve.

And I do think prices will come down - even if Biden is elected. It may take 6 months. It may take a year. But as far as I know the price of the basic components of a round (brass, gunpowder, etc.) have not changed all that much, so once all the panic buying stops prices will hopefully return to normal.

The one thing I worry about if dems. take over is that they may decide to start treating ammo like cigarettes and tax the crap out of it, so you'll end up paying $5-6 in tax on every box of ammo you buy.

To your first point: Wish I were that good! I try, and try a lot, but I'm 70 and no Rambo.

To your second point: CONCUR. Ammo is both Bang and Barter.
