So im picking up a Savage 110 Predator. It has weaver bases.

nice pic at .33

On my AR15 I have a Nikon FX1000. 30mm tube.

What rings do I need to use the Nikon on the Savage??

Dunhams has some Weaver 30mm rings but it says they are only good for up to a 40mm obj lens while my Nikon has a 50mm obj.

Also dumb question.....if i just want to try the gun out tomorrow at the range, will a red dot fit a weaver base?? lol

What rings do you use for the Nikon while on the AR? Those rings should high enough for the objective lense to clear the Savage if it clears on the AR. If the scope will be swapping platforms then I would get EWG Savage 110 rail so they’ll both be Picatinny and there will be no need to swap rings.

Picatinny accessories will not fit on a Weaver rail, but Weaver accessories usually will fit on a Picatinny rail. So if the red dot is a Picatinny mount then it will not work.

on the AR I have the big clunky cantilever mount, which is of course picatinny.

I doubt ill be switching scopes back and forth. Ill probably just put a red dot on the AR.

I was wondering about the height of the scope on a savage 110. I am clueless about the cheek weld/scope height etc. if the scope is too high wont it mess with the cheek weld etc?

in any case I have the accu-fit on the Savage so that means i have different height comb risers etc

The cantilever will effect your eye box more by moving the scope to far forward.

Yes it will mess with cheek weld but it sounds like you can adjust it. Getting the EWG rail will provide a better platform to mount the scope plus picatinny style rings are in the PX every day.
