Good morning everyone. I am picking up my 6.5 cross today and wanted to get some ideas from everyone. I dont have tools or a cleaning kit for the rifle yet. I am looking for some good ideas on kits that can work on my cross and possibly my p226 9mm. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Separate cleaning kits are the only way to go.
You have 2 completely different weapons, not only in caliber but also size.
Get a nice pistol one for 9mm with a good short rod
Get a nice rifle one for 6.5mm with a long rod
I personally like having the coated rods with nice handles.
Then get a set of attachments (brush, patch holder, jag) for each caliber.

Anyone seen the newest Nutnfancy Patreon video review of the Cross? Seems like he can break every Sig product he gets his hands on. The Cross trigger group broke and was sometimes firing only when the trigger was released, or would completely be hung, yet armed, and the firing pin dropped when the bolt handle was jarred.
I wonder if he got carried away with adjusting trigger weight or if it was simply defective. The screw is suppose to stop at either end (light or heavy) of travel.

Pretty crazy... I think nutnfancy is completely incompetent and he has been known to bubba some rifles to death but it looks like a legit issue here. The rifle firing when you open the bolt is a major issue. I def would like to hear sigs take on it. Did anyone pick up on whether or not he cleaned out the trigger and everything and then retested? It was a long vid and I didn’t make it through the whole thing. Shit happens tho... I had a Geissele SSA fire on the first stage a few times... opened it up, rinsed it out, and it has never done it again.

I watched the whole video, he didn't adjust the trigger, nor did he clean the bolt and sear once the problem started.
So most likely either the sear just needs to be cleaned or an internal set screw came loose.
Sig did do a bunch of testing, so this seems like a one off. I had not heard about this issue in any other review or articles I have read.
Update: just got back from the range. I had 50 rounds on this thing before today with no issues. After about 15 rounds today the stock started collapsing while firing. 100% of the time, no matter how tight or where I set it, I can pull the rifle into my shoulder and collapse the stock and pinch the shit out of myself. I put a small bolt from a Safariland holster in the groove so it can't collapse, which is pretty fuckin ghetto on a new rifle.
My Sig streak remains unbroken. I was confirming zero before I packed this thing up for a Prince of Wales blacktail hunt, this thing would have been ideal as compact and easy handling as it is, but it's back to the Blaser for this trip.

Just picked up my cross 6.5 tonight. Turners in Pasadina Ca has one in stock in 6.5 for $1650
Does anyone have load data for their 6.5 that they want to share. I started with Berger 140 gr Hybrids targets and 40.8 grains of H4350. I am using Starline small primer brass and CCI BR4 primers.
I wonder if nutnfancy got a rifle that a retailer released without the bolt recall being fixed? Either way skip to 27:00 on the video. The first 25 minutes doesn’t contain any actual information other than the bolt is smooth and him guessing at approximations of given specs.

Plan to get out this weekend and run a few more rounds and start trying to see what it’ll look like on paper. Hope to post up something decent in a few days!

was pleased to take a nice Tennessee Buck today for the opener of rifle season....at 260 yds the eldx hit him like a truck...very happy
Was unsuccessful at finding a pad for the cheek rest. Called the folks at Wiebad and they offered to make one using the dimensions I gave them. A few days later FedEx dropped off this mini pad. It fits well and was exactly what I was looking for.
Man I miss that range! I think the last time I saw you out there you were working on a 6mm CM for the hunting season, do you think you'll using the 6.5 Cross instead?
My 6CM match rifle works great when I go back to Nebraska and hunt from a stand. It's heavier than I like for chasing Antelope and Mule deer in Wyoming and Colorado. I ordered some 123 Absolute Hammer Copper Solids to try in the Cross. It'll be my everything smaller than an elk hunting rifle. Quick load says I should be able to get the 123s over 2900, fingers crossed.
And yes, Otto Road is a great range.
I like the looks of that pad. Might have to look into that myself.

Painful to sit through even fast forwarding. The dude could fuck up a one piece puzzle, but there is definitely something not right with the striker. Which would take a about a minute to disassemble and clean/check.
Not surprised at all that he couldn't figure that out.
On another site there is a guy who is friends with the poor guy who was dumb enough to let “nutn” hold his brand new rifle so maybe he will have some good info later on. Someone also said that they had heard there was a lot of dirt intentionally put into the action just before this happened. Which makes sense... seems like something was obstructing the firing pin channel. Also very consistent with nutnfancy modifying or doing something dumb to a rifle and parading the broken rifle around while never disclosing the dumb shit he did that led up to the failure. Still very interested in this but the more I learn about it, the less concerned I become. For right now (100ish rounds in) my main complain is the stock not locking up 100% solid.

Hmmm... interesting. I find it MUCH faster to keep my thumb on the right side of the pistol grip and flick it off from that side. I've been considering finding a pistol grip that would allow this easier than the stock one. Your solution goes the exact opposite way.
This is the 2ND time I have to send my new rifle back to Sig Sauer. I'll most likely "pass" on any new Sig products for a awhile.
CROSS rifle has been recalled.
Sig just recalled the cross based on the nutnfancy video.
They’ll have to wait until after hunting season to get mine. Hopefully they will know by then if it’s a real design/manufacturing issue or just a cya safety check.
I did register for the recall on line. I also called, at this point Sig just wants to have a contact list so they can send out email updates.
They have no idea of which serial numbers may be affected or what the repair will be. So there is no benefit to calling customer service this week.

the recall site now has a section to enter serial number. Hopefully mine isn’t affected...
