I have an old school Weatherby Mark XXII tube fed 22 (crazy accurate) and looking for a nice scope for it. Will only be shooting out to 100-150 yards with it. Prefer something with a min power of 3-4 and FFP. What are some good options with these requirements sub $1K?

I am pretty sure Weatherby had a house branded scope for them, that would be pretty cool.

I love mine, my father bought it new in the early 60’s

What are you doing with this rifle? Hunting? Plinking (best guess based on requirements). If you are shooting out to 150 yards max with it you can do fine with a less expensive scope, but part of that will depend on what you are doing.

Probably run a set of Talley rings or something similar since it has a Weaver/Picatinny type rail. I definitely want FFP scope though. Grown use to them and prefer them now.

Well your options are far from limited. The Vortex Viper PST gen II, Viper HS LR 6-24 would both fit your needs. Athlon scopes would also fit the description given, not sure if you are worried about weight. Meopta Optika 6 is another option, newer design. Those are just a couple that come to mind, but the sub $1000 market is full of great options.

I have not heard of Meopta before. Their 2.5-15x44 looks like it might be a good fit for my rifle and price is not too bad. It is SFP but not end of the world. Have some nice FFP offerings too. Will have to do some research on them.

Glad I could help. There are some others with information on them in other forums, sounds like most are pleased with the quality. I am eyeing the 3-18 or 4.5-30 for one of my rifles so that is why I suggested it.

Some of the scopes talked about are, IMHO, going to look as out of place on this gun as sticking a live chicken up there.
you have the worlds most stylish tin can rifle, mount something like a Leupold rimfire 3-9x on it, they were made for each other.

I agree. Think I decided on a Swarovski Z3 3x10-42. Think that is sleek enough to not looknout of place and should have decent glass.

I went with a Weatherby 2-7 on mine. It wasn't priced too crazy, I picked it up NIB within the last 3 months on another forum for $200 and it had been listed for a couple weeks.
