Rl16 vs rl17

Wondering what people have found with rl16 being new and having little data available?

I used H4350 data and worked up

My Bro’s and I were using RL17 and now we’re using RL16. Good velocity and damn good Temp stability.

And, what Matt said, started in the H4350 area and worked up.

R16 is soooo much nicer to deal with than R17.
R17 gets pretty interesting the heat.

What are some numbers when we say good temp stability? With H4350 I get a 45fps increase when the temp goes from 40* to 80*. RL16 better or worse in that aspect?

That seems like a pretty high spread from my experience with H4350.
I get about half that spread with H4350 or R16 in my 260.

Thanks, maybe it was more like 35* to 80* but i’ll test a larger sample to verify

Did this a couple years back in my 6xc, RL16 has good temp stability.

In my 6.5 I havent done this test but in my preliminary ocw test loads under a 140 rdf in peterson brass I hit max pressure at 43.5 which is right around where I did with h4350.
Grain for grain the rl16 was about 30 fps faster at 50 ° than the h4350 numbers gave at 90°.
