Savage mk2 issue

I have a savage mk2 with the unthreaded varmint barrel on it that I've shot about 200 rds though with out a problem but the last 5 rounds I shot through it today all of a sudden the bolt is binding really bad and feels like sand is in the action. Gave it a good cleaning and light oiling and it's still doing the same thing. Anybody have any idea what could be causing it? I had some slight burrs that I did stone and then made to to throughly clean all the parts so there was no foreign material in it.

Not sure honestly. Haven't encountered it with mine yet. But if you reach out to Savage I'm sure they'll help you out, I've heard they have good customer support.

When I run it in and out.

I assume you took apart the bolt and checked it all out but make sure the clip is seated correctly. Not sure what else would drag on the bolt end.

What clip are you talking about?

The one that holds in the extractor. I can see it potentially getting off the little tit that it clips into and dragging.

Oh no I haven't checked that yet but that would probably explain the problem as I had an issue extracting the last shell before it started acting up
