Recs on a bolt matched barrel for ar15 build

Ok fellas, I have my side charging upper, and want to get a precision barrel for it and I'd really like a bolt matched to it. It's. 223 but it's a precision .223, so I'd like to have the bolt matched to the barrel if possible and it won't take forever and a day to get it. I can wait a bit though. I think I'm going to go SS on this barrel and I'd really like it to be one of the top manufacturers, but what recs do you guys have for getting this? I looked through the threads and didn't find much in the way of .223/5.56 threads about bolt matched barrels.

I know when I bought my criterion barrel for my large frame 6.5 build, criterion would match a jp bolt up for you.

You want a SS barrel from a "top manufacturer" & you don't want any wait?

Well, good luck with that.

All the "top" guys are forever busy & now is worse than normal; a barrel that I ordered from Craddock arrived in September after a 14 week wait.........& he knows me, I've bought quite a bit from him & things are now worse than then.

So Good Luck.

But you might call JP rifles & see if they have a wait list for "in stock" barrels & if so, you can get it with a bolt.............if they have any bolts.

Other than that, you are going to wait for a while.

Of the "top" manufacturers, CLE usually is about as fast as any, but I don't know how they are right now..............history is out the window.

Also, check Ranier's website 2-3 times a day..............their stock tends to come & go.

I know I'm going to wait. I didn't realize my phone typed "I can't wait a bit though" . It should have said "I can wait a bit though" . I will fix it. I just don't want to wait like 6 months or better if there's another option.

Oh yeah? That's a good idea. I'm going to check into that. That would be ideal. I saw where Faxon will do it if you buy a bolt from them, I just don't know anything about their barrels and I'd really like this to be "the best" that I can get, even if I have to wait a while for it

It's not like they are making a bolt special for you.
They are going to pick a bolt out of the parts bin and stick a guage in the chamber and it's either going to be good or not.

JP is bone dry, no real ETA on parts, I've already been waiting 2.5 months for a BCG.

CLE is running about 1.5-2 months behind their normal waiting times, I just had them spin me up a Custom Bartlein to replace the piece of shit LaRue Xtraxn Barrel that came in my OBR so about four months for CLE

And Craddock is a easy 6 Months.

There are others options like White Oak and Keystone, no idea on their back log.

Yes, I'm aware.... But I hadn't yet looked at what options they had for the carrier ect... I also am not sure about the chambering as they offer their own version on another 20" barrel or a "wylde" . So instead of typing out "do you know if they have any particular bolt carrier that they sell as a package or what" , I just said " I havent looked at their bolts"

I have a 22lr upper from them. I can't provide much information, but what I have is well made and they are well regarded by many. Shipping can occasionally be slow.

I just got a white oak upper 10 weeks for an 18 inch spring 1in 8

They will head space any barrel bcg you get from them

Just got it so no reviews but very good accuracy reports from the forum

They keep a supply of bcgs to go with barrels they sell

Compass Lake has em ready to ship so I think I'm good, just need to find the time during the day to call them and talk to them a little about the various choices and their own methods and parts ect... but it looks like I can get a great barrel reasonably quickly
