Building my first AR10 (.308) on an M5E1 Aero Builders set and a magpul PRS buttstock. Scope is a Razor AMG 6-24x50, 30mm tube. Will NOT be running any clip on or other accessories.

I'd prefer a non-cantilever mount (for aesthetics) unless that makes positioning/mounting the scope less than ideal.

What are the best options and heights (pls include a model # if able) available for QD and non-QD.

Thanks!

Nightforce Unimount 30mm x 20 MOA x 1.375 A191 or A192, both are cantilever with variance being ring spacing.
Aadmount 30mm x 20MOA x 1.375.
Both rock solid, with Aadmount a bit heavier. Have them on most all of my small and large frame AR’s. You might not need 20 MOA with 308, depending on mils elevation available, but cheap insurance to keep reticle more centered than at perimeter of available reach.

for a good priced option that works well, the AERO mount is light and slim, clamps well and is a clean design. I use several of them and haven't had any issues. I've also dismounted scopes from them and they don't seem to leave any marks.

Posted this yesterday concerning scope rings on an LR:

"I'm using a 1-piece NightForce Ultralight 20 MOA 30mm mount on my long range LR243. It is about .800" from the pic rail to the bottom of the scope tube (forward edge). Nightforce Ultralite Unimount Picatinny-Style 20 MOA Elevated Integral (midwayusa.com) I have 2-piece NightForce Ultralight 30mm rings on my LR308. On that rifle the scope tube is about .750" above the pic rail. Nightforce 30mm Ultralite Picatinny-Style Rings Matte High (midwayusa.com)

Both are pricey but lightweight (aluminum alloy and titanium). I've shot at least a thousand rounds through both rifles without a problem from the NF scope rings and mount."

It's more likely that you won't need one, but it's still pretty easy to get a combination of LOP, eye relief and stance/position that require some cantilever.

That's why the question was asked- I'm sure someone here has put that optic on an M5/AR10 so was looking for feedback. Not crazy about the look of a 30mm tube and cantilever on that platform and I saw some pics of non-cantilever mounts that seemed to allow for proper eye relief.

Priority 1 is still a setup that will function properly and allow for correct fundamentals, just want to see if it can be done with the look I want as well. I'd much rather learn from folks who've been through it and found what worked!

This is where I get correct eye relief with 4.5-18 LRTSi on Mega Maten receiver.

@duckhunter175 I'd be willing to bet with a long LOP stock like the PRS and a relatively short eye relief higher magnification scope you would be fine with a non cantilever mount. Personally I'd still hedge my bets and get an ADM standard height mount with a little cantilever.

More than enough room for 2-piece scope rings. Picture of my daughter shooting my LR308. LR243 in the foreground. Both with 2-piece rings and lots of room on the large LR to adequately position your scope for proper eye relief. I have since replaced the scope rings on the LR243 with a 20 MOA 1-piece mount.

I use the same scope on my Mega Maten uppers. Geissele is as good as it gets for me. Not much of a cantilever on their SR-25 mounts. They're hard to find but worth the effort.

I have used the Seekins MXM (?) 30mm mount on a SCAR17s (w NF NX8) and had zero complaints. It is cantilevered, so may not be what you desire. Sold the SCAR and do not use the Seekins at this time. I found it to be a solid value and performer.
