Vudoo barrel length and general questions

What length barrel(MTU contour) would be perfect to run with and without a can? I'm going to order with MPA chassis. My can is 5 inches long so I don't want to overdo it. But it would pretty silly if the 18 inch does clear the spigot mount when I run it without the can. Also, any recommendations on the barrel make Ace, Bartlein, or proof. I've heard they are all good. Leaning on Medium bolt knob. How far will 30 MOA base get me out to running scope with 32 mil of travel on average? Like to be able to sight in at 50 yards and get out to 400 yards. Have no idea if this is possible. Anybody tried the xtr burris rings? Thought I might utilize them if everybody has good luck with them to get the most travel out of scope as possible. What height rings are you guys running to clear 56 MM scope 34MM tube? That's a lot of questions. Thanks in advance only want to cry once.

I run an 18" barrel on my Vudoo and can dial to just past 500 yards with my Strike Eagle on a 40 MOA base. 300 yards is 13 mils for me. 400 yards is about 21 mils. If your scope has 32 mils then go for a 40 MOA base.

As for barrels the Ace or Bartlein would be my choice. Wouldn't waste the money on a carbon fiber barrel unless you are doing a lot of walking and seeing as you want an MTU then I guess you won't be. I run a Kukri contour myself.

What are zeroed at?

I have had my Vudoo now about two weeks, 20” MTU in an MPA with a 40 rail, and it is butt heavy for sure. I just got the MPA side rails and the Grey Ops weight kit in yesterday.. I hope it gets me close, I will let you know. I also have a Strike Eagle and at 40 Degree temps I dial 22.2 mils..Seekins/Vortex Rings..

For sure, let me know. Just what need to know. You zeroed at 50 and have 22 mils left? So how many inches past the spicket does your barrel stick out? I got 5 inches of can to add.

OP I definitely wouldn’t go over 20”.
That is what I'm thinking too. But I may pay the difference and order it with matrix chassis which is 2 inches longer(what I have heard). My plan would be to move the matrix over to my center fire and move comp chassis to the 22. It has a weight kit already so hope it will balance out.

Don’t get overly stressed about balance. The rifles have no recoil and getting it to set on a barricade is easy no matter the balance point as you easily stay on target with shots.

I run an 18" Kukri, don't run a suppressor. A lot of my friends have been fooling around with weight and balance and all of them have switched to 22" MTU setups to allow for the best balance w/o being a 20lb rifle.

I'm planning on getting a 22" MTU on my next Vudoo, and to not run a suppressor. My groups opened up quite a bit with the suppressor, so it just wasn't worth it for me to run with one.

The extra 2" of weight at the END of the barrel going from 20" to 22" really helps.

Don't get the Matrix unless you really want to be running a 22lb rimfire setup. It is unbelievably butt heavy.

If I get the matrix it will be swap it over to my center fire and put my comp on the vudoo.
