I loaded up some 300 WM (in process or working up some loads). I must not have measured the distance to the ogive in my chamber accurately. I used the Hornady comparator gauges. Anyway, when I double checked the measurement, w/ a 212 ELD-X bullet the gauge indicates that the length is 2.924". I have some ammo loaded up to a length of 2.933" (jammed by 0.009"). The COAL w/ the bullets seated like this is 3.641", and my mag can take up to 3.775". The rifle has no problem chambering these rounds, which I do not understand. I thought that at least it would be difficult to close the bolt. I can seat the bullets deeper, but do not understand why they are chambering in the first place.
