Browning Maximus stock issue

I can’t find the Scattergun section that was on the hide, this may be the wrong forum for this question. My dad gave me his Maximus 12 gauge and the stock and for arm are so sticky that it’s a fly trap! I shot it two years ago and put in safe. It has to be from solvent/ oil but good luck finding out from manufacture . This has the factory camo coating throughout the gun , only the stock is affected not the action or barrel. Carburetor cleaner took it off my hands but I haven’t tried on the stock yet. Anyone ever hear of this before? A google search showed complaints on barrel coating peeling

The Browning dura touch was such a problem that Browning had a class action suit against them for it and they offered no cost re-application to a whole bunch of customers.

follow up... Fill out the claim form and they will send you a shipping label to ship shotgun to browning for a free rework. got an email from them today.
