just got in a comparator from hornady for my 6.5 creedmoor.
question, i tried doing a measurment for stardard load length but my comparator is giving me a different measurement did i not get something

I'm not understanding your question, so take us step by step. What comparator are you using? Are you measuring shoulder bump or base to ogive? What is "standard load length" and what is giving you different measurements? Are you saying you took a measurement but it isn't repeatable?

It is a lil confusing 🤣

I think he's talking/asking about the Hornady comparator. Maybe not getting a consistent measurement for his lands 🤷‍♂️

I'm just guessing

You might be on to something. Reading it with that in mind makes sense, but now is he talking about the comparator on his calipers giving him inconsistent readings or is he saying he's inconsistent in finding the lands, which is a pretty common complaint when using the OAL gage

If you are trying to find the lands on the barrel, you might want to see Erik Cortina's videos on youtube. Pushing the bullet with the piano wire is a lesson in frustration for finding the lands. Erik has several excellent videos that will show you the way he uses the Hornady Oal.

Should have mentioned that for measuring the CBTO and shoulder, you should be getting pretty consistent measurements. Maybe a picture of how you have things set up on the calipers would help us see where you are at.
