I have a Remington 700 in 308which will become a 100-600 metre target/deer hunting rifle, once the police here do whatever they need to do and give me a licence for a 6.5CM for long range work.

Thinking of replacing the factory Remington stock with a Hera H7. I don't want to spend too much on a stock for this rifle.

Any user reviews or thoughts on this?

Looks like it is fiberglass-plastic, with an aluminium bedding block and aluminium foreend (will this get hot?).

Alternatives would be a MDT Oryx or KRG Bravo, but if this Hera H7 is ok, then it's the right price for what I want.

Where are you located? What is the cost for you with each of the options?

If you're located in the US you will get lots of opinions for the bravo. If you're in Europe options might be more economical for others.

^ I'm in the UK, so my options are limited.

The other thing is, the donor rifle is an ADL Remington 700 with the blind floor plate. Not sure if these stocks can be used direct on an ADL or if I need more parts.

You dont need any more parts. In fact, the magazine parts in the 700 BDL are made redundant by stocks that come ready for AICS magazines.

The main things I see between Hera and KRG are the shape of the pistol grip and the number of available accessories.

I'm going to buy something next week, leaning towards the KRG Bravo, although the grip on the Bravo is more vertical than I'd like.

When I change the stock over, am I correct in thinking I pull the barrelled action with the scope still on off the old stock and drop it in the new stock, scope and all? And there should be no change in zero?

If the barrel in the previous stock was free floated should be fine. If the zero isn't the same it will be very close.
