I tripped with my harris bipod legs extended and fucked one of the legs. The lever that goes into the notches on the legs is stripped on the right leg. Bipod has some sentimental value to it. I'm wondering if I should send it in for repair or just try to find a busted bipod and steal a leg from it....

If it's got sentimental value, I'd just send it back. I think you're not going to have an easy time finding someone with a spare leg.

I would contact them first before sending it in. They just may replace the entire unit with a new one. That you don't want if it's got sentimental value.

could try a band aid but calling the company sounds like a wiser course of action .

DINOSAUR!!!
That shit aint square!!

Just contact them. My friend @Foul Mike will attest to what wonderful CS they have. ;)

Just no one say that this or my Harris Bipods are exactly the same as the Atlas, TBAC, Elite Iron, Cyke or whoever else is making them now and I think we are good. Only a moron would do that anyways.

And yes, I know a guy who shot 1.5MOA steel at a grand off a Harris. with a .308 and the 168 BTHP. and hit it many times.
He was using an IOR scope at the time to!!!!:LOL::LOL:

Something different. Maybe your bipod/karma is trying to tell you something. Maybe its time to try something different, a different brand or different style. Retire that bipod that has value to you, put it a place of honor on the mantle or in a special spot in the reloading room, in its own case. Then try a different model or even a different brand.

All bipods CAN break. I’m sending my Atlas back today because of a broken leg. Anything man made can and will break. Atlas stated they are fixing it for free, so good on them.

Call Harris kind of early in the AM during business hours their time. If you are lucky you will talk to a Gentleman with a bit of an accent that knows his shit, but anyone you get ahold of there is GTG and you talk to an actual person and that is rare these days.

I did, in fact, post on the Hide sometime back where I was very impressed with Harris Customer Service when I ordered a few low buck items from them and my CC got hacked along the way and how they helped way beyond what I expected from anyone to get that staightened out. They are good people and helped me greatly. I do wish Harris would build better bipods than what is available now, but that was not the point of my OP, just Customer Service.

In that post a "Member" of this community did not do as he advises others to do,-- Read the whole post instead of just a little bit,--- then fly off of the handle with a rant about their products that certainly do need improved upon, and I agree with that.

I have met this "Member" in person at a shoot and I know he is a great person, but in that post he was going too fast between turns 3 and 4 , then hit the wall going for the Checkered Flags, he is still a good guy and I respect him greatly and will support him anyway I can.

The products I ordered from Harris were not bipods, they were a sling swivel kit for an AR, NOT BIPODS.

We are all just human and we ALL Fuck-up on occasion, so let's put this one to bed and all learned from it. FM

I sure as Fuck wasn't touting their bipods there, just their Customer Service that I found Stellar.

THIS IS NOT HARRIS!

Jesus! Why is the word not getting out after over a decade of this.

Ultimate weapon systems out of Bethlehem, CT bought the domain name "HarrisBipods.com" somewhere around 2009.
Harris Engineering (the real Harris bipods) never had a website, does not have a website and will likely not have a website.

Emilio at UWS does sell actual Harris made bipods but he also sells a shit ton of adapters and knockoff accessories that are marketed and sold as if they originated at Harris Engineering.

Harris Engineering does not have anything to do with many of his products.

Most of his margins are from the accessories that are not US origin but are marketed to appear "Harris" on his website. They do thousands of dollars a week via customers that think they are actually Harris. Sneaky? Yes....but they smile all the way to the bank.

To the OP: The real Harris you would want to contact is at HWY 60 E., RT.1,BOX 33 BARLOW, Kentucky 42024
Phone: (270) 334-3633

Just for shits and giggles, please check and see if the front plate around your swivel lock is stamped "HARRIS" "USA".
Prolly is but there is a lot of fakes out there that are almost identical.

Even if you could lay hands on a leg, you don't want to try that swap out. You could lose a finger and most of your religion before you get it on correctly.

Harris Engineering ( the real one in KY.) will be happy to repair or replace it at no charge and they will do it quickly.

Thanks for the clarification. I couldn’t find the number that I called last year and couldn’t remember how I found it. So I had to do a search all over again. That is what I found.

I get it.
Unless you put in "Harris ENGINEERING", you will always get hits for the only registered domain close. You have to go down the search page to find the business info for the real Harris since they don't play the website game.

Not sure if this makes me.a troll or hater. Was thinking retire it (look for the repair parts) and upgrade to a newer setup for your main. You'll have a backup for that or a good bipods for your backup rifle

I still have A harris or 2 around.

for back up, loaners. Ones on a hunting rig.
whatever works. 🤷🏿

If you must, as suggested below, call Harris. But, unless it has sentimental value, can't imagine that $hit canning and buying a new one will hardly dent anyone's budget........ Money is replenishable.......your heartbeats......not.
