Speaking in terms of Ballistics can you straighten a bullets flight path that is fired from a rifled barrel?
(Yup; I am overthinking this)

Here is the scenario: Shoot a playing card with 140 eld that is facing directly towards you.
The bullet will enter and exit the card before it cuts the card in half. (If card does not flex or move)
Aside from the easy stuff like velocities and twist rate, what else would straighten the flight path?
Shooters position Globally? Direction of fire?
Does extreme wind stand it up or does spin drift still walk the same regardless?

Is there an existing situation where it could be fired in a straight line aside from drop...(Ballistics speaking)
I'm sure there is an answer but my brain may ignite prior to employing the knowledge at the range.
The quick answer is to just tilt the card to the left (in my case) and then the bullet is on the correct approach coming in.

No hate here please. Just thinking out loud after shooting this morning.

I feel faster ammo cuts more card but but you would think the increased spin would cause it to move off line quicker.... Today at 2660 the rounds just passed from left to right almost instantly...
Sure, not everyones type of shooting but for me, it's fun and keeps me thinking.

In the picture I drop 1 of the 4 low but you can see the 3 that passed through.

According to the back azimuth on the compass it is.
The photo of course does not show this due to the angle of the capture.
Well, I guess I should say that I believe it to be straight based on the above but there is always error.
How would you precisely know right.

That pic makes it look like the card and the target frame are at an angle to your firing point. The holes in the backer are elliptical. Im quite certain your bullets aren’t turning a corner around the nose of your playing card, passing through the card, and then hitting to the right of the card again.

For the example I posted you are 100% correct.
This morning I walked back to the tgt with my compass and checked the back azimuth again. It is 21 degrees off.

For that card I was shooting from my 1/4 mile position and the day before I had shot from the 100 yard zeroing position.

I had adjusted for the firing position but forgot the target in this case.

Great catch!
