Just skim bed my mdt acc chassis.

1. I used Johnson paste wax for release agent. Worked great. Used it on action bolts. In the action threads. So issue there. But a bunch oozed into the chassis where the action bolts come thru the chassis. How do you get it out of there?

2. The hole in the bedding for the action screw is as small as the bolt. Do you drill that back out some with a drill press. My 3/16 bit fits in the hole but 1/4 doesn’t. Is it safe to go ahead and drill that out to 1/4 inch?

Did you fill them all the way up to the bottom ? What I do is get a bit small enough to put some tape around the bit and still have it fit down the hole . Carefully drill going towards the action side till your all the way through the you can go bigger with the bits to get it cleaned out . The tape keeps the bit from biting the side of the chassis when you start drilling.

So drill from top down? Or from bottom up towards where the action sits, the action bolt direction?

From the bottom up towards the action hopefully you have enough chassis to get the bit started straight .

Either a drill bit or a dremel will take care of it. I personally prefer the dremel. Seems less likely to crack the bedding when starting the hole or punching through the other side

Drill press has worked fantastic. I started with 7/32 (just slightly bigger than the hole). Then went 1/4. Then 9/32. Stepping it up slow worked great with no damage at all to bedding. Looks nice and clean/uniformed

Sorry, I don’t.

There were directions on here a few years back for stress free bedding. You tape the barrel so that it is centered in the channel and the action is where you want it in the stock. Then get long screws to replace your action screws and cut the heads off. You put them in the action before putting the action in the bedded stock. Once in place, secure barrel with tape over the tape spacers.

I hope that is clear? Hard to describe without pictures of the steps.

I bought these. Think its the same concept.

I'm no expert, but I had coated my action screws with my release agent, after about an hour I broke them loose then snugged them back. The Devcon just formed threads that I left there, but it didn't come all the way through either.
