My best guest is a bumble bee. Miserable sons of bitches!!! Been all over these mountains in all seasons. Never had an issue with bumble bee's. Wife got bit 7 times and 3 for me. Not super painful but painful enough in the arm pit. She bout had a meltdown

Caught near Pekin Il dam on the Illinois river recently. Evidently conservation dept took possession.

Forwarded to me by a friend that is on social media. The guys original post has been modified or removed as Dept of Conservation got involved. Alligator Snappers are protected this far north. He caught it while catfishing with hook and line.
Its said now not to retrieve them and cut the line.
