Nice MR President.

"Actions speak louder than words."
It's plausible, Trump hyperbolized a medical issue to escape Vietnam service. Given the truth about the USA's actions in Vietnam, I don't hold it against him. If the federal government was not all-in-to-win, why should anyone give their life and die, in a cesspool country's jungle? It was a politician's war, not a war to defend the USA. It was wrong.

Good point, his actions as president did speak louder than his words. His action do speak loudly to who he cares for. And its not the uniparty swamp creatures that have had us in perpetual war since the 60s.

Vietnam was a stupid war, and the people who sent all those young men to die so they could line their pockets are human scum.

More good stuff about Trump in that article about his alleged "draft dodging." Him mocking that lying piece of trash McCain.

Who cares if it’s true. I don’t blame anyone who figured out a way not to end up in Vietnam to fight a war that had nothing to do with the USA. I would feel the same way if a draft was used today. Men should not be drafted to die in a foreign war for profit. If you want to serve the politicians interests then sign the dotted line and go like so many have in this “war on terror”.

Memorial Day is for honoring and mourning ALL US military personnel who died in the service of our country - it is unequivocal, unconditional. We do not conditionally honor soldiers that fought in certain wars, but not other wars., political or not, drafted or volunteered, right or wrong. They all died in service of our country and deserve to be honored.

Having a draft dodger put out a statement to honor the servicemen who died for our country is insulting.

So, where's the proof? Show me where Donald J Trump said that. Not some flunky who couldn't do anything right and was put in jail for his inability to do the right thing.

It’s a job like any other. No more or no less honorable. I respect what these men went through but see them no differently than any other man that died at work trying to make a living. The ones that I feel for the most are the men who were drafted and were forced overseas at gunpoint to fight a foreign war that had no benefit to America or Americans. They were taken from their families against their will. Tragic.

We have been and still are in places that mostly none of us give a shit about.

Thankfully these days we have enough volunteers to accomplish the task.

I hope the volunteer quota meets the demand for a very long time.

The way I see it if these conflicts are not fought on foreign soil they may come here eventually.

At that time volunteers may need augmented by voluntolds once again.

What about people like Blumenthal? He served (caugh caugh). How about McClain? He did more to screw the Republic and never saw a conflict that he wasn't willing to send young men to.
Do I need to list ten more names? How about twenty more? How about I touch you in a sensitive part by mentioning a general Mattis?
There's plenty of hate, anti or whatever if you look for it.

It's an accusation about Trump, by a known liar, Cohen. I don't think there's proof that Trump was a draft dodger. Maybe he was. Maybe he wasn't. All who have died in the line of duty, whether at war, or peace, deserve to be honored. I still know our involvement in Vietnam was wrong. The men who died there are honorable.

Did u serve?

I don't think he did either. But his speeches about anything military memorials should be stricken from the records.
Wasn't aware Obama dodged the draft. In fact, I'm pretty sure he was too young. Clinton lied to dodge the draft and that's...okay?

Being a Vietnam veteran, Not Vietnam ERA veteran, A Vietnam Veteran

I can say this. There were good people inVietnam. People who died protecting their way of life, protecting their country. They were being invaded by a foreign power, the just as we, another forsign power were tying to assist them.

As typical, we fought the war wrong, we were being led by men who did not understand what needed to be done. We have made the same mistake in Afghanistan, where for The very first time since Alexander The Great, we had a very real opportunity to ally with the people of Afghanistan and defeat a faction who wanted to take over that nation. But as typical, jealousy by the leaders of the conventional forces destroyed the efforts of our Unconventional Forces.

A victory cannot be won in an Unconventional war with Conventional forces.

I appreciate your insight.

Do you ever question that what you described is intentional and our “leaders” aren’t simply incompetent but sinister? I don’t question this any longer. I’m convinced.

Sinister is not the right word. Jealousy and selfishness are better words. Its the old “my way or the highway” type of thinking. So much into their own selves that they cannot and will not see what actually will work.

As powerful and as ruthless as LBJ was, he allowed himself to be led astray by his desire to be forever known to end poverty, ignoring the fact that we simply cannot have guns and butter. Westmoreland appeared to be too far removed from the country he was supposed to be fighting in. (I was never even close to Saigon but I am told it was a different world, a world like today’s NYC. Cosmopolitan but still dangerous without proper protection) You can’t lead the fight of a war in the Adirondacks while hiding on Wall Street.

Nixon? Who knows what lay in his heart. Even I could write a book and all that went wrong in his administration and how we still suffer from the effects today.

Man Is inherently Evil.

Good men work at doing the right thing, even without "reward"

Evil men are corrupt, greedy, and seek comfort at the expense of others.

choose wisely....
